ATTACHING THE CONTROL ROD
1. Makesurethe handleassemblyis in the highestposition.Referto
the OperationSection.
2. Removethehairpinclips from the control rod,putthe rubber
washersin place.
3. Insertthe shorter,angledend of the controlrod throughthe
indicatorbracketon the shiftcover and secureit with the previ-
ously removedhairpinclip. See Figure3.
4. Insertthe longerend of the control rodthroughthe hole in the
gear selectorhandleand securewith a cotterpin.
ATTACHING THE CLUTCH CABLE
1. Removethethreadedeyeboltand nut fromthe cableend.
2. Routethe clutchcableto the rightside of the handlemounting
bracketsand underneaththe handle.
3. Pushthecable throughthe hole in the centerof the handleand
snapin the plasticfitting. See Figure4.
4. Removetheslot headscrew,nutand two fiat washersfrom the
clutchbail.See Figure5.
5. Fastenthe threadedeyeboltontothe bail by securingit from the
top with the slot headscrew,flat washersand lock nut.
6. Threadthe eyeboltand nut removedearlierintothe internally
threadedtubeat the end of the cable.The threadengagement
shouldbe about3/4".Tightenthe nut againstthetube at the end
of the cable.See Figure5.
NOTE:Do notovertightenthe clutchcable.Toomuch tensionmay
causeit to break.Be certain to checktheclutchcable adjustment
beforeoperatingthe tiller.
