arious setup and fimction
aspects of multichannel speaker
configurations possible within
Dolby Digital Surround Sound
system playback. Basically, the
Speakers Menu controls deal with
distinct "one-time" settings for
such items as speaker volume
levels affd sound delay (as related
to speaker distance and listening
room size dimensions).

Front in Line - is for the speaker arrangement
where the center, left. and right speakers are
evenly lined up and roughly equidistant from the
user
- Forward 1 foot (2 feet/3 feet) - settings
compensate for a center speaker being placed a
few feet in front or the external left and nght
speakers
- Back I f_ot (2 feet) - settings compensate for a

Left - control adjusts the volume level of the DPTV's
left front inlemal cabinet speaker (or the Left Front
External Speakers Output terrmnal source on the rear
of the DPTV).
Right - control adjusts the volume level of the
DPTV's right front internal cabinet speaker (or the
Right Front External Speakers Output terminal
source on the rear of the DpTV)

O11/OI1" - control allows the user to turn the rear
surround sound signals On or Off to the Surround
External Speaker Output terminals on the rear of the
DPTV.
Left • control _djusts the volume Level of the DPTV's
left mar surrouud sound speaker (as connected
through the Left Surround External Speaker Output
terminal on the rear of the DPTV)
• Right - control adjusts the volume level of the
DPTV's right rear surmul_d sound speaker
(as connected through the Right Surround External
Speaker Output terminal on the rear of the Dr'TV )
• Delay - control adjusts mar surround sound to
compensate
for room size and how far tl_e rear
sutxound speakers are located behind
the system

Test Tone
• On/Off. - allows the use tff a test tone signal in order
to help set the volunz levels for the individual
channel DpTV audio system speakers (See tim
following page for details on the use of the lest lone
speaker adjustment prOCess.)
Subwooter Level
• Adjusts the volume level of a subwcofer speaker fas
connected through the Subwoofer Speaker O_t put
terminal on the rear of the DPTV).
