improper operation, fire, explocion or asphyxiation.
• Analyze the entire vent system to make sure that
condensate will not become trapped in a section of
vent pipe and therefore reduce the open cross
sectional area of the vent.
Breathing carbon monoxide can cause brain damage or death.
Always read and understand instruction manual.
The first step is to determine where the vent pipe will
terminate
(see Figures 24, 27 & 31). The vent may
terminate through a sidewall as shown in Figure 24 or
through the roof as shown in Figure 27.
Important: The vent system must terminate so that proper
clearances are maintained as cited in local codes or the
current edition of the National Fuel Gas Code, (ANSI
Z223.1, 12.9.1 through 12.9.4) and as listed below:
Vent Termination
must extend
a minimum
of 18
in. (46cm) above roof or 18 in. (46cm) above the
anticipated snow level to prevent blockage of the vent
termination, as shown in Figures 24 and 27.
Instructions on proper installation through a sidewall are
provided in Figure 31.
Plan the vent system layout so that proper clearances are
maintained from plumbing and wiring.
Vent pipes serving power vented appliances are classified
by building
codes as "vent connectors".
Required
clearances from combustible materials must be provided
in accordance with information in this manual under "Facts
to Consider About Location" and with the National Fuel
Gas Code and local codes.
