Basements,crawl spaces,skirted areasunder mobile homes
(evonwhonventilated),dusetsandareasbelowgrouod lere_ will
serve as pockets for the accumulation of this gas. Before
attemptingto lightor mlightthe water heater_ pilotor toming
on a nearbyelectricallightswitch,be absolutely surethere isno
accumulated gasin the area.Search for odor ofgasbysn'#flng a t
groundlevelin t_e vicinity of the appliance. I f odor isdetected,
follow stepsindicated at "For YourSafety"on the coverpageof
this manualthen leavethe premise_
Lighting and operating instructions are located on front of the
water heater, above or to one side of the gas control valve.
