  • Why is my Frigidaire FEB24S2ABC oven struggling to regulate its temperature?

If your oven is struggling to regulate its temperature, consider the following:

    • A film from oven cleaner building up on the temperature sensing bulb can cause the oven to heat improperly. Carefully wipe the bulb clean after each oven cleaning, being careful not to move or bend the bulb and capillary tube.
    • If cakes are not level, the range might not be level. Place a marked glass measuring cup filled with water on the center of the oven rack. If the water level is uneven, refer to the installation instructions for leveling the range.
    • If cakes are not level because the pan is too close to the oven wall or the rack is overcrowded, ensure 5.1 cm to 10.2 cm (2" to 4") of clearance on all sides of each pan in the oven.
    • If cakes are not level due to a warped pan, do not use pans that are dented or warped.

  • What are the general cleaning guidelines for my Frigidaire FEB24S2ABC oven?

Before cleaning any part of the appliance, ensure all controls are turned OFF and the appliance is COOL. Remove spillovers and heavy soiling as soon as possible; regular cleanings will reduce the number of major cleanings later.

General cleaning guidelines for various parts include:

    • Aluminum (Trim Pieces): Use hot, soapy water and a cloth. Dry with a clean cloth. Do not scour or use all-purpose cleaners, ammonia, powdered cleaners, or commercial oven cleaner as they can scratch and discolor aluminum.
    • Glass, Painted and Plastic Body Parts and Decorative Trim: For general cleaning, use hot, soapy water and a cloth. For more difficult soils and built-up grease, apply a liquid detergent directly onto the soil, leave for 30 to 60 minutes, then rinse with a damp cloth and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
    • Control Panel (Models with Control Knobs): Before cleaning, turn all controls to OFF and remove the control knobs. Clean using hot, soapy water and a cloth. Squeeze excess water from the cloth before wiping. To replace knobs, align the flat sides of the knob and shaft.
    • Control Panel (Models with tactile touch-Membrane): Turn all controls to OFF. Lightly spray the control panel with a liquid cleaner. Wipe with a soft cloth or paper towel. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
    • Porcelain Enamel (Broiler Pan and Grid, Door Liner): Gentle scouring with a soapy scouring pad will remove most spots. Rinse with a 1:1 solution of clear water and ammonia. For difficult spots, cover with an ammonia-soaked paper towel for 30 to 40 minutes. Rinse with clean water and a damp cloth, then scrub with a soap-filled scouring pad. Remove all cleaners or the porcelain may be damaged during future heating.
    • Stainless Steel, Chrome Decorative Trim: Clean with hot, soapy water and a dishcloth. Rinse with clean water and a cloth. For stubborn spots, cover with an ammonia-soaked paper towel for 30 to 40 minutes. Cleaners made especially for stainless steel are recommended, and ensure to rinse them to avoid bluish stains.
    • Oven Racks: May be removed or left in the oven during the self-clean cycle. If removed, clean with a mild, abrasive cleaner following manufacturer's instructions. Rinse with clean water and dry. If cleaned during the self-clean cycle, their color will turn slightly blue and the finish will be dull. After the cycle, rub the sides of the racks with wax paper or cloth containing a small amount of baby oil or salad oil to make them glide easier.
    • Oven Door: The door may be removed to facilitate cleaning. Wash with hot, soapy water and a clean cloth. Do not immerse the door in water or clean the oven door gasket, as the gasket is essential for a good seal.

For Porcelain Enamel Ovens, allow the oven to cool before cleaning and wear rubber gloves. Remove spillovers and heavy soiling as soon as possible. To remove heavy soil, allow a dish of ammonia to sit in the oven overnight or for several hours with the oven door closed. Clean softened spots with hot, soapy water. If soil remains, use a soap-filled scouring pad or a nonabrasive cleaner. Do not mix ammonia with other cleaners.

When using oven cleaners, do not spray on electrical controls or switches, do not allow a film to build up on the temperature sensing bulb, and do not spray on the oven door trim or gasket, handles, or any exterior surfaces of the appliance.

To clean the oven bottom, use hot, soapy water, a mild abrasive cleanser, a soap-filled abrasive pad, or oven cleaner. Ammonia must be rinsed before operating the oven. Do not line the oven walls, bottom, racks, or any other part with aluminum foil.

For Self-Cleaning Ovens, allow the oven to cool before cleaning and wear rubber gloves. Do not leave small children unattended near the appliance. Ensure the electronic oven control is turned off or push the CANCEL pad before cleaning. Do not use commercial oven cleaners or oven protective coatings. Do not clean the oven door gasket. Remove any excess spillovers in the oven cavity before starting the self-cleaning cycle. Clean any soil from the oven frame and the door liner. Remove the broiler pan and insert, all utensils and any foil. Oven racks may be left in or removed; if left in, their color may dull. After the cycle, rub the sides of the racks with wax paper or cloth containing a small amount of baby oil or salad oil to make them glide easier.

  • Why are my dishes cooking unevenly in my Frigidaire FEB24S2ABC oven, and how can I fix it?

If your dishes are cooking unevenly, consider the following:

    • For good air circulation and best baking results, center pans as much as possible. Allow 5.1 to 10.2cm (2" to 4") around the utensil(s) for proper air circulation. Ensure pans do not touch each other, the door, sides, or back of the oven, as hot air must circulate around the pans for even heat.
