TO SHARPEN BLADE
NOTE: We do not recommendsharpen-
ing blade- but if you do, be sure the
blade is balanced.
Care shouldbe taken to keep the blade
balanced. An unbalancedblade will
cause excessivevibrationand eventual
damage to mower and engine.
• The blade can be sharpenedwith a file
or on a gdndingwheel. Do not attempt
to sharpenwhile on the mower.
• To check blade balance, you will need
a 5/8" diametersteel bolt,pin, or a Gone
balancer. (When usinga cone bal-
ancer, follow the Instructions supplied
with balancer.)
NOTE= Do not use a nail for balancing
blade. The lobesof the center hole may
appearto be centered, but are not.
• SIkie blade on to an unthreaded
portion of the steel bolt or pin and hold
the bolt or pin parallel with the ground.
It blade is balanced,it shouldremain in
a horizontal position. If eitherend of
the blade moves downward, sharpen
the heavy end until the blade is
