mowed.
• The average lawnshould be cut to
approximately2-1/2 inches duringthe
coolseason and to over 3 inches
duringhot months. For healthierand
better lookinglawns,mow often and
after moderategrowth.
° For best cuttingperformance,grass
over 6 inches in height should be
mowedtwice. Makethe first cut
relativelyhigh;the second to desired
height.
TO OPERATE MOWER
Yourtractor is equippedwith an operator
presencesensingswitch. Any attemptby
the operatorto leavethe seat with the
engine runningand the attachment
clutch engagedwilt shut off the engine°
1. Selectdesiredheight of cut°
2. Start mower bladesby engaging
attachmentclutch control
TO STOPMOWERBLADES-
disengageattachmentclutch control.
_f_CAUTION: Do not operatethe mower
withouteitherthe entiregrasscatcher,on
mowersso equipped,or the deflector
shield in place.

• Movemotioncontrol lever' t o neutral (N)
position.
IMPORTANT: The motioncontrollever
does not returnto neutral (N) position
when the clutch/brakepedal is de-
pressed,
• To restartmovement,slowly release
parking brake and clutch/brakepedal.
o Slowly move motioncontrol leverto
slowestsetting.
° Makeall turns slowly.
TO TRANSPORT
Whenpushingor towingyour tractor,be
sure to disengagetransmissionby
placing freewheelcontrol in freewheeling
position. Freewheel controlis locatedat
the reardrawbarof tractor.
1. Raiseattachmentlift to highest
positionwith attachmentlift control.
2. Pull freewheelcontrol out and down
intothe slot and releaseso it is held in
the disengagedposition.
o Do not pushor tow tractorat morethan
two (2) MPHo
• To reengagetransmission,reverse
above procedure.
NOTE: Toprotecthood fromdamage
when transportingyour tractoron a truck
or a trailer,be sure hood is closed and
securedto tractor. Use an appropriate
meansof tying hood to tractor(rope, cord,
etc.).

Do not drive up. or down
hills with slopes
greater
than I5 ° and do
not drive across
any slope.
• Choose
the slowest
speed
before
starting
up or down hills..
° Avoid
stopping
or changing
speed
on
hills.
o If slowing
is necessary,
move throttle
control
lever to slower
position.
° tf stopping
is absolutely
necessary,
push clutch/brake
pedal quickly
to
brake
position
and engage
parking
brake.

Tow only the attachments
that are
recommended
by and comply
with
specifications
of the manufacturer
of your
tractor_ Use common
sense when towing.
Too heavy of a load, while
on a slope, is
dangerous.
Tires can lose traction
with
the ground
and cause you to lose control
of your tractor.
