GUIDE BAR AND CHAIN OIL
The chainoilerprovidescontinuous lu-
brication to the chain andguide bar.Be
sureto fillthebar oiltankwhenyou fill
the fuel tank(Capacity= 6.8 fL oz.)
Formaximum guidebar and chainlife,
we recommend you useCraftsman
chainsaw bar oil. If Craftsmanbar oil is
notavailable,you may use a good
gradeSAE 30 oil untilyou are able to
obtainCraftsmanbrand.The oiloutput
is automatically m etered duringopera-
tion. Yoursaw willuseapproximately
one tankof bar oil for everytank offuel
mix.Alwaysfillthe bar oiltankwhen
you fill the fuel tank.

ture whichleads toseparationand
formation ofacids duringstorage.Acid-
icgascan damagethe fuel systemof
an enginewhileIn storage.
To avoidengineproblems, t he fuel sys-
tem shouldbe empti_l_ beforestorage
for30 days or longer.Drainthe gas
tank,starttheengineand let it rununtil
• Set fast Idleby dapressingthethrottle
lockwithyourrighthand.Then,
squeezethrottletriggerand hold.With
YdOUr thumb,pressthe fast idlelock
own and hold.Next, releasethe
throttle trigger.
° DONOTsqueezethrottletriggerdur-
ingstarting; otherwise,itwillbe nec-
essaryto resetthe fast idleJock.
NOTE: When pullingthe starter rope,
do not usethe full extentof the rope.
Do not letstarterropesnap back.
Holdhandle.Let roperewindslowly.
• Pullstarterropehandlefirmlyand
quickly withyourdghthanduntilthe
engineattempts to startor 5 pulls.
Thenpushthe chokeknobfully in.
