GUIDE BAR AND CHAIN OIL
The chainoilerprovidescontinuous lu-
brication tothe chainand guidebar.Be
sure to fill the bar oiltankwhenyou fill
the fuel tank (Capacity= 6.8 fL oz.)
Formaximum guidebar and chainlife,
we recommend you useCraftsman
chainsaw bar oiJ.tf Craftsman bar oil is
notavailable,you may usea good
gradeSAE 30 oiluntilyou are able to
obtainCraftsmanbrand.The oiloutput
is automatically metered during opera,
tion. Yoursaw willuse approximately
one tankof bar oilfor everytank of fuel
mix. Alwaysfillthe bar oiltankwhen
you fill the fuel tank.
FUELING ENGINE
This engineis certified to operateon
unleadedgasoline.Beforeoperation,
gasolinemustbe mixedwitha good
quality2-cycleair*cooled engineoil. We
recommendCraftsmanbrandoil. Mix
gasolineand oilat a ratibof40:1 (A
40:1 ratioisobtainedby mixing 3.2
ouncesof oilwith 1 gallonof unleaded
gasoline).DONOTUSEautomotive oil
or boatoil. These oilswillcauseengine
damage.When mixing fuel followthe
instructions p rintedon thecontainer.
Once oilisaddedto the gasoline,
shakecontainermomentarilyto assure
that thefuel isthoroughly mixed.
Alwaysread and follow the safetyrules
relating to fuel beforefueling yourunit.
IMPORTANT
Experience indicates thatalcohol
blendedfuels(calledgasoholor using
ethanolor methanol) canattractmois-
ture whichleadstoseparationand
formation ofacids during storage.Acid-
icgas can damagethefuel systemof
an enginewhilein storage.
To avoid engineproblems, t he fuel sys-
tem shouldbe emptiedbeforestorage
for 30 daysor longer.Drainthe gas
tank,startthe engineand letit rununtil
thefuel linesand carburetor a re empty.
Use freshfuel nextseason.See STOR-
AGEinstructions f oradditional i nforma-
tion.
Never useengineor carburetor c leaner
products in thefuel tankor permanent
damage may occur.
