Available mode: CARD-CAMERA
It is possible to take a still picture in the same
way as you do with a standard camera and
record that image on the card.

Insert a card in the camcorder (see
page 15).

Remove the lens cap. Pull out the
viewfinder completely or open the LCD
monitor.

Set the Media Selection
switch to CARD.

Hold down the Lock button and set the
POWER switch to CAMERA.
• The camcorder turns on in CARD-
CAMERA mode, and the picture from the
lens is displayed on the screen.

Press the Power Zoom buttons to frame
the subject as you desire.
Note: In CARD-CAMERA mode, the zoom will
give magnification of 1–10 .

Press the STILL button to record a still
image of the subject.
• The O indicator flashes red while data is
being recorded on the card, and returns
to white when recording is completed.

Notes:
• In CARD-CAMERA mode, the angle of field is
slightly wider than in TAPE-CAMERA or DUAL-
CAMERA mode.
• Recording under insufficient lighting may result
in blurred images. It is recommended that you
use a tripod to record insufficiently illuminated
subjects.
• Recording under the light of a fluorescent,
mercury, or sodium lamp may cause flickering in
the image and, depending on the timing of the
shot, may result in changes to colour hue in the
image.
• It is also possible to record still images on a card
by pressing the CARD REC button on the
infrared remote control.
Caution:
• Do not turn the power off or remove the card
while the O indicator is flashing in step 6,
because this may delete or damage images on
the card.
