Importan! Safety Instructions
To reduce the risk of fire, explosion, electric shock,
or personal injury when using your washer, follow
basic safety precautions, including the following:
1. Read all _nstruct_ons before using the apphance.
2. As w_th any equipment using electnc_ty and hawng
mowng parts, there are potential hazards. To use th_s
apphance safely, the operator should become famd_ar
w_th the _nstruct_ons for operation of the apphance
and always exercise care when using _t.
3. De not install or store th_s apphance where _tw_ll be
exposed to the weather.
4. Install and level washer on a floor that can support
the weight.
5. This appliance must be properly grounded. Never
plug the apphance cord _nto a receptacle which _snot
grounded adequately and _n accordance w_th local
and national codes. See _nstallat_on _nstruct_ons for
grounding this apphance.
6. To avoid the possibility of fire or explosion:
a. De Bet wash _tems that have been prewously
cleaned _n,washed _n,soaked _n,or spotted w_th
gasohne, dry-cleanng solvents, other flammable or
exploswe substances as they gwe off vapors that
could _gn_teor explode. Hand wash and hne d0/
any _tems containing these substances.
Any material on which you have used a cleanng
solvent, or which _ssaturated w_th flammable
hqu_ds or sohds, should not be placed _nthe
washer untd all traces of these hqu_ds or sohds
and their fumes have been removed.
These _tems nclude acetone, denatured alcohol,
gasohne, kerosene, some hqu_d household
cleaners, some spot removers, turpentne, waxes
and wax removers.

De Bet add gasohne, dry-cleanng solvents, or
other flammable or exploswe substances to the
wash water. These substances gwe off vapors that
could _gn_teor explode.
Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be
produced _na hot water system that has not been
used for two weeks or more. HYDROGEN GAS IS
EXPLOSIVE. If the hot water system has not been
used for such a period, before using a washng
machne or combnat_on washer-dryer, turn on all
hot water faucets and let the water flow from each

accumulated hydrogen gas. As the gas _s
flammable, de Bet smoke or use an open flame
dunng th_s tH]]e.
d. Do not wash or dry _tems that are so_led w_th
vegetable or cooking o_1. T hese _tems may contain
some o_1 after laundenng. Due to the remaining o_1,
the fabnc may smoke or catch fire by _tself.
lie Bet reach _nto the apphance _fthe tub or agitator
is moving.
lie Bet allow chddren or pets to play on, _n,or _n
front of the apphance. Close supervision _snecessary
when the apphance _sused near chddren and pets.
lie Bet tamper w_th controls.
lie Bet repair or replace any part of the apphance or
attempt any servicing unless specifically
recommended _n pubhshed user-repair _nstruct_ons
that you understand and have the skdls to carry out.
Unplug power supply cord before attemptng to
service your washer. Service _sto be done only by
quahfied service personnel.
The agitator should not be removed. If the agitator is
removed, _t must be replaced by pushng down
completely and the Iockng screw t_ghtened before
the washer _soperated.
Keep all laundry a_ds such as detergents, bleach, etc.,
out of the reach of chddren, preferably _n a locked
cabnet. Use laundry a_ds only as d_rected by the
manufacturer. Observe all warnngs on container labels.
Keep the area around and underneath washer free
from the accumulation of combustible materials, such
as hnt, paper, rags, gasohne, and all other flammable
vapors and hqu_ds.
lie Bet use chlonne bleach and ammonia or acids
(such as wnegar or rust remover) _n the same wash.
Hazardous fumes can form.
lie Bet machine wash fiberglass matenals. Small
particles can st_ck to fabrics washed _n following
loads and cause skin _rntat_on.
For flame resistant finishes - follow garment
manufacturer's nstruct_ons carefully. Improper
laundenng could remove the finish.
Before the apphance is removed from service or
d_scarded, remove the door to the washing compartment.
Inlet hoses are subject to damage and deterioration
over tn]e. Check the hoses periodically for bulges, k_nks,
cuts, wear or leaks and replace them every five years.
