6. Start the engine.After engine has
started, movethrottle controlto idle
position.
7. Releaseparking brake.
8. Slowly movethe motioncontrol lever
forwardand slowly drive tractor off
skid.
9. Apply braketo stop tractorand set
parking brake.
10.Turn ignitionkey to "STOP"position.

CHECK TIRE PRESSURE
The tires on your tractorwere overinflated
at the factoryfor shipping purposes. Cor-
rect tire pressure is importantfor best
cutting performance.
Reducetire pressureto PSI shown in
"PRODUCTSPECIFICATIONS" s ection
of this manual.
CHECK DECK LEVELNESS
For best cutting results, mowerhous-
ing should be properlyleveled. See "TO
LEVEL MOWERHOUSING"in the Service
and Adjustmentssection of this manual.
CHECK FOR PROPER POSITION
OF ALL BELTS
See the figuresthat are shown for replac-
ing motionand mowerbladedrive belts
in the Serviceand Adjustmentssection
of this manual. Verify that the belts are
routedcorrectly.
CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM
After you learn how to operate your trac-
tor, check to see that the brakeis properly
adjusted. See "TOADJUST BRAKE"in
the Serviceand Adjustmentssectionof
this manual.

leveled

they are routed

See that all connections
are still secure
