[] REMOTE _ (LANC) control jack
Connect the LANC U connecting cable of a
wired remote control unit such as an editing
controller. In this case, set la REMOTE
COMMANDER to OFF.(p. 26)
_' (LANC) stands for Local Application
Control Bus System. The _t control jack is
used for controlling the tape transport of
video equipment and peripherals connected
to it. This jack has the same function as the
connectors indicated as CONTROL L or
REMOTE.
[] Q (headphone) jack (minijack) (p. 21)
Connect headphones (not supplied) to monitor
the sound while viewing the playback or the
recording picture.
[] START/STOP button (p. 17)
To start recording, press it after setting the
POWER switch to CAMERA and turning
STANDBY up.
To stop recording momentarily, press it again.

To set the camcorder to Standby mode
(recording standby mode), set it up. To stop
recording or to prevent from accidentally
recording and wearing down the battery, set it
down.

Press it to check the recorded scene in the
viewfinder in Standby mode.
+ side: to view the playback picture forward
- side: to view the playback picture in reverse
Power zoom button (p. 19)
Press it to change the size of the subject in the
scene.
T side: for telephoto (subject appears closer)
W side: for wide-angle (subject appears further
away)
Stereo built-in microphone
EJECT (cassette eject) button (p. 7)
While pressing the blue button, slide it down to
insert or eject a cassette.
Cassette holder (p. 14)
Lithium battery holder (p. 10)
insert a lithium battery here to activate the clock.
Grip strap (p. 16)
Put your hand thorugh the grip strap to hold the
camcorder. Adjust the length of the strap so that
your thumb can easily touch START/STOP.
