Distant Subjects (Inf .mty)
To restrict the focus to distant
subjects,
set the camera to _t,. For details
on
the focusing
range, see "Specifications"
in the Getting
Started
guide.
Press the 4 button,
press the _
buttons
to
choose
_L., and then press the @ button.
Once the setting
is complete,
_t, is displayed.

The focal length of the lens can be increased
by approximately
1.6x or 2.Ox.
This can reduce
camera
shake because
the shutter
speed is faster than it
would
be if you zoomed
(including
using digital
zoom)
in to the same
zoom
factor.
Press the
MENU
button,
choose
[Digital
Zoom] on the O
tab, and then choose
the
desired
option (p. 38).
The view is enlarged
and the zoom factor is
displayed
on the screen.

The digital
tele-converter
cannot
be used with digital
zoom
(p. 51)
and AF-point
zoom
(p. 73).
The digital
tele-converter
is only available
when the aspect
ratio is
4:3.

The shutter speed may be equivalent when you move the zoom lever all the way
toward F_3for maximum telephoto, and when you zoom in to enlarge the subject
