• The MII links the Ethernet MAC with
the PHY.
• An MII may support both 10-Mb/s and
100-Mb/s operation, allowing network
devices to connect to both 10BASE-T
and 100BASE-T media segments.
• The MII electronics may be linked to
an outboard transceiver through a
40-pin MII connector and a short
(0.5m) MII cable.
• The MII is internally connected to the
EPHY on the MCF5223x
