PROBLEM
Engine does not
crank.
Engine cranks but
does not start.
Battery light does not
light up when starting
engine.
CORRECTION
Disengage PTO.
Engage parking brake.
Clean and tighten battery cables (see
Clean Battery on page 21).
Charge battery (see Charging the
Batteryon page 21).
See your Ariens Dealer.
Fill fuel tank (see FILLING FUEL TANK
on page 15).
Replace spark plug. Refer to Engine
Manual.
Clean or replace air cleaner. Refer to
Engine Manual.
Clean or replace fuel filter. Refer to
Engine Manual.
Refer to Engine Manual or see your
Ariens Dealer.
Charge battery (see Charging the
Batteryon page 21).

Replace ignition switch (see your Ariens

Depress operator presence switch by
sitting on seat.
Check the electrical system to the
clutch for damage or wear. See your
Ariens Dealer.
Disengage parking brake.
Close transmission bypass levers (see
MOVING THE UNIT WITH THE
ENGINE OFF on page 16).
Add hydraulic oil (see Check Hydraulic
Fluid Level on page 19).
