Using the ColdFusion Administrator
Platform Description
On In Console mode (for exploded EAR/WAR deployment):
Linux/Solaris/UNIX

At command prompt, run the following command:

In Console mode (for unexploded EAR/WAR deployment):

At command prompt, run the following command:
DINSTALL_FILES_OUTSIDE_CF=true

Follow the instructions provided in the console.
In Silent mode (for exploded EAR/WAR deployment):

At command prompt, run the following command:
<install_properties_file_path>
The following is a sample properties file:
INSTALLER_UI=SILENT
#For the following, specify the folder that contains META-INF folder which contains
application.xml
USER_INSTALL_DIR=<ColdFusion_Deployment_Root_Path>
In Silent mode (for unexploded EAR/WAR deployment):
First, you install the hotfix files outside your EAR/WAR on your system and then manually update the EAR/WAR.

At command prompt, run the following command:
<install_properties_file_path>
The following is a sample properties file:
INSTALLER_UI=SILENT
USER_INSTALL_DIR=<Any directory on your system>
INSTALL_FILES_OUTSIDE_CF=true
java -jar <jar-file-name>
java -jar <jar-file-name> -
. The console appears with instructions.
java -jar <jar-file-name> -i silent -f
. Installation occurs silently.
java -jar <jar-file-name> -i silent -f
Installation occurs silently.
