Mounting tHe Scope anD Setting up tHe tripoD Remove the spotting scope from its case. Spread out the tripod legs and place the tripod on a level surface.

Then unlock the pan arm by rotating it counterclockwise and use it to move the scope as desired. To lock the scope in place, rotate the pan arm clockwise and tighten the side/vertical locks.
