Quick-start guide for the HDB73

Tuning your receiver for the first time
To set up your receiver
Step 1
Connect the aerial lead to the
AERIAL IN
socket on the back of the
receiver.
Use the
lead supplied
with your
receiver to
connect the
TV OUT
ANT. IN
TV OUT
socket
to the aerial
socket on the
back of your
television.
Step 2
Take the scart lead supplied and
connect one end to the TV socket on the back
of the receiver
and the other
end to your
television. If
your TV is an
HD Ready TV,
you can connect
TV OUT
your receiver
to it through
the HDMI output
of your receiver.
HDMI cables are
available from
most HiFi / TV
retail outlets.
Before you connect any of the leads, please make sure the receiver, television, video and any other equipment is switched off at the mains.

Step 3
Connect the
receiver to a
suitable 13-amp
mains socket.
Step 4
Put the batteries into the remote control.
Step 5
Switch on your television. If the red
light on the receiver
is lit, press the
standby button
on the remote
control.
The television
will show:
Note: If you connect to the TV via an HDMI
cable you do not need to connect the scart
cable as well. You will need to select the
HDMI input on your TV by using the TV
remote control.
