Thank you for purchasing your new Hitachi Alarm Clock Radio. We recommend that you spend some time reading this instruction manual in order that you fully understand all the operational features it offers. You will also find some hints and tips to help you resolve any issues.
Power Source Mains Power Before use, make sure that the rated voltage of the mains adapter matches your local voltage. This unit operates with a mains adapter (included). Connecting the unit to any other power source may cause damage to the unit. Unwind the mains adapter to its full length.
Battery Power Slide the back cover to open the battery compartment. Insert one 9V battery (6LR61). Make sure to 9V BATTERY match the (+) and (–) ends of the batteries with the (+) and (–) ends indicated in the battery compartment. 9V BATTERY Close the battery compartment cover.
General Operation Setting the Clock To adjust the time manually, press and hold the time button on the top of the radio. At the same time press the buttons repeatedly to adjust the time hour/minute digits. Alternatively press and hold the buttons to forward the time hour/minute digits.
The ALARM indicator will illuminate. The unit will wake up to “Radio” or “Buzzer” when the alarm timer reaches the preset time and then shut off automatically after 1 hour. To Disable the Alarm Adjust the FUNCTION selector to the OFF position.
Radio Operation Adjust the FUNCTION selector to the ON position. Adjust the AM/FM selector to the desired band (AM/FM). Turn the TUNING control to tune in to a station. TUNING For Better Reception FM: Fully unwind the FM aerial. Extend the FM aerial and place it in the position that sounds best.
Maintenance Ensure to unplug the unit from the mains socket before cleaning. To clean the unit, wipe the case with a slightly moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use any cleaning fluids containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives. Do not spray an aerosol at or near the unit. Hints and Tips If a problem does occur, it may often be due to something very minor.
