CDRH Regulations

The Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the U.S. Food and
Drug Administration implemented regulations for laser products on August 2,
1976. These regulations apply to laser products manufactured from August 1,
1976 to today. Compliance is mandatory for products marketed in the United
States.
CAUTION
Use of controls, adjustments, or performance of procedures other than those
specified in this user's guide may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
This label is attached to the laser scanner unit inside the fax machine and is not
in a user access area.

determined that this machine meets the ENERGY STAR
Program for energy efficiency.
The International ENERGY STAR
is an international program that promotes energy saving
through the use of computers and other office equipment. The
program backs the development and dissemination of
products with functions that effectively reduce energy
consumption. It is an open system in which business
proprietors can participate voluntarily. The targeted products
are office equipment, such as computers, displays, printers,
facsimiles, and copiers. The standards and logos are uniform
among participating nations.
