Opening and closing
Switching on the interior light
When the vehicle is locked:

for instance in a parking garage.
Unlocking the tailgate

On certain national-market versions, the
tailgate cannot be unlocked unless the car
has been unlocked.
In order to avoid damage, make sure there is
sufficient clearance in all directions before open-
ing the tailgate.
If the tailgate had been locked before it was
opened, it is locked again as soon as it is closed.
Before and after each trip, check that the tail-
gate has not been inadvertently
Malfunctions
The remote control may malfunction as a result
of interference from localised radio signals. If
this occurs, unlock and lock the car at the door
lock with the integrated key.
If the vehicle can no longer be locked with a
remote control, the battery in the remote con-
trol is flat. Use this remote control when driving
a relatively long distance to recharge its battery,
page 20.
