Windows 2000 Device Driver for Altos
S300
The purpose of this guide is to teach Altos S300 users how to install the Windows 2000 device
driver for it.
Altos S300 is an Ultra320-ready JBOD storage subsystem, which can provide high
performance, high capacity, and high reliability to our customers. On each I/O module in
Altos S300, there is an enclosure service (ES) in it. The enclosure service includes SES and SAF-
TE protocols, which can provide enclosure monitor, management, and report functionality.

INSTALLATION When first powering up a Windows 2000 operating system with an Altos S300 PROCEDURES enclosure attached, Windows 2000 will launch the “Found New Hardware Wizard”. This wizard requires the installation of a suitable device driver for the attached enclosure(s). The device driver should be installed by following this procedure: Install Altos S300’s Device Driver Attach the enclosure(s) to a Windows 2000 system as described... - Page 6 b. Select “Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)” and click “Next” Select “Floppy disk drives” when the driver is in the floppy disk and click “Next” to allow the system to locate the driver (AAS300.inf). Windows should report that it detected a suitable driver.
