5-3-2 Configuring S/PDIF Out
The S/PDIF Out jack can transmit audio signals to an external decoder for decoding to get the best audio
quality.
1. Connecting a S/PDIF Out Cable:
Connect a S/PDIF optical cable to an external decoder for transmitting the S/PDIF digital audio signals.

2. Configuring S/PDIF Out:
Step 1:
While in the operating system, right-click on the
icon in the notification area and select Playback de-
vices.
Step 2:
On the Playback tab, right-click on SPDIF Out
select Set as Default Device, and then open the Prop-
erties dialog box.
Step 3:
You can go to the Supported Formats tab to select the
formats to be decoded or the Advanced tab to select
the sample rate and bit depth.
(Note) Select SPDIF Out if you use the S/PDIF Out connector on the back
panel for digital audio output or HDMI Out screen if you use the
internal S/PDIF Out connector (SPDIF_O) on the motherboard.
