BEFORE REQUESTING SERVICE

Problem
Range is not level.
Oven control is beeping and
displaying an F code error.
Surface units will not maintain
a rolling boil or cooking is not
fast enough.
Surface units do not work
properly.
Surface unit stops glowing
when changed to a lower
setting.
Areas of discoloration on the
cooktop.
Frequent cycling on and off of
surface units.
Oven will not work.
y Poor installation. Place an oven rack in the center of the oven. Place a level on the oven
rack. Adjust leveling legs at the base of the range until the oven rack is level.
y Floor is not level. Make sure that the floor is strong and stable enough to adequately
support the range. If floor is sagging or sloping, contact a carpenter to correct the situ-
ation.
y Kitchen cabinet alignment may make range appear unlevel. Be sure cabinets are square
and have sufficient room for range clearance.
y Electronic control has detected the fault condition. Press CLEAR OFF to clear the display
and stop beeping. Reprogram oven. If fault recurs, record fault number. Press CLEAR
OFF and contact a Service agent.

y Improper cookware is being used. Use pans that are flat and match the diameter of the
surface unit selected.
y In some areas, the power (voltage) may be low. Cover pan with a lid until desired heat
is obtained.
y A fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped. Replace the fuse or
reset the circuit breaker.
y Cooktop controls are improperly set. Check to see that the correct control is set for the
surface unit you are using.
y This is normal. The unit is still on and hot.
y Food spillovers not cleaned before next use. See the Care and Cleaning section.
y Hot surface on a model with a light-colored cooktop. This is normal. The surface may
appear discolored when it is hot. This is temporary and will disappear as the glass cools.
y This is normal. The element will cycle on and off to maintain the heat setting.
y Plug is not completely inserted in the electrical outlet. Make sure that the electrical plug
is plugged into a live, properly grounded outlet.
y A fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped. Replace the fuse or
reset the circuit breaker.
y Oven controls improperly set. See the "Using the oven" section.
y Oven is too hot. Allow the oven to cool.
