• Ascrewdriver
• Atleastone3.5"or2.5"SATAharddisk
(Pleasevisitwww.synology.comforcompatibleharddiskmodels.)
Warning:Ifyouinstallaharddiskthatcontainsdata,systemwillformatthehard
diskanderasealldata.Ifyouneedthedatainthefuture,pleasebackitupbefore
installation.
InstallHardDisks
1 Pushtheuppercaseinthedirectionasshownbelow.Lifttheuppercaseand
setitaside.
2 Installtheharddisk:
• For 3.5" Hard Disk: Slidetheharddiskintotheharddrivebay,andpush
itallthewayuntilitisconnectedtotheSATAconnector.Securethehard
diskwiththeprovidedscrews.
Thedisks'positionsarenumberedasshownbelow.
