Removing the
Fan Mounting
Bracket and
Disconnecting
the Fan Cable
To remove the
heatspreader with
thermal pad,
complete the
following steps:
1. Prepare the
computer for
disassembly.
2. Release and lift
the keyboard.
3. Remove the
heatspreader
with thermal
pad.
4. Remove the
modem cover.
5. Remove two
screws from the
fan mounting
bracket,
disconnect
fan cable, and
lift out of
chassis.
To replace the
heatspreader with
thermal pad, reverse
the previous
procedures.
