Resolution submenu in the Video Record mode
• 1080/50p (
): Records in the HD (1920x1080/50p) format.
50P HD
• 1080/50i (
): Records in the HD (1920x1080/50i) format.
• 1080/25p (
): Records in the HD (1920x1080/25p) format.
25P HD
• 720+576/25p (
): Records both in the HD (1280x720/25p) and SD (720x576/25p) formats.
• 720/50p (
): Records in the HD (1280x720/50p) format.
50P SD
• 720/25p (
): Records in the HD (1280x720/25p) format.
25P HD
• 576/50p (
): Records in the SD (720x576/50p) format.
50P SD
• Web & Mobile (
): Videos recorded in the VGA (640x480/30p) resolution at normal image quality.
This setting may make a video easily to upload to a web site without down-sizing via an editing
programme. Also, this may be the best option for viewing on mobile devices.

• "50p" indicates the camcorder will record in progressive scan mode at 50 frames per second.
• "50i" indicates the camcorder will record in interlaced scan mode at 50 fields per second.
• "25p" indicates the camcorder will record in progressive scan mode at 25 frames per second.
• Recorded files are encoded with Variable BitRate (VBR). VBR is an encoding system that
automatically adjusts the bitrate according to the recording image.
• The available video recording time differs according to the selected video resolution.
• The camcorder takes photos at 10 mega pixels. When you set the resolution to 12M, the
camcorder up-scales the photos you take to 12 mega pixels.
