3. Slide the Floppy Disk Drive forwards and out of the
computer.
4. Remove the two brackets on either side of the drive by
undoing the screws and place the new drive in the
brackets.
5. Slide the drive back into the computer.
6. Replace the screw , reconnect the cables

Task 6 Replacing the SIMMs
Before You Start
• Remove the computer's cover as described in Task 1
"Replacing the Cover".
• Remove the system board as described in Task 4
"Replacing the System Board".
Replacing the SIMMs
1. Locate the SIMM sockets on your system board.
2. Pull the two clips
wards.
3. Lift the SIMM forward and clear of its socket.
4. Replace the SIMM, pushing it home until a click is
heard.
5. Replace the system board and the cover.
Task 7 Replacing the Power Supply
Before You Start
• Remove the computer's cover as described in Task 1
"Replacing the Cover".
Replacing the Power Supply
1. Remove the four screws

system board and drives.
3. Lift the power supply out of the computer and replace
with new power supply.
4. Replace the four screws , reconnect all connectors
and replace the cover.
5. Ensure the voltage selector switch is set to the correct
value for the country you live in.
Task 8 Replacing Expansion Cards
Before You Start
• Remove the computer's cover as described in Task 1
"Replacing the Cover".
Replacing Expansion Cards
1. Locate the expansion card, disconnect any cables
attached to it and then remove the retaining screw
2. Carefully lift out the expansion card, making sure that
it does not make contact with any other part of the
computer.
3. Insert the replacement expansion card any reconnect
any cables to it.
4. Replace the retaining screw and then the cover.
