New Features

With the Multi Boot feature, the order in which your PC will boot from a
device is no longer determined by the physical connection of the device to
the cable. You can connect IDE devices to the Ultra ATA cable in any order
and then select the boot order for all bootable drives (including floppy drive,
CD-ROM drive, and SCSI drives) with the BIOS Setup program.
This Intel chipset, which is based on the Intel 440LX chipset, is optimized
for Intel Celeron processor-based systems. It provides support for ACPI to
permit increased manageability across the corporate network. It is AGP-
enabled for enhanced graphics performance. The chipset also provides
support for Ultra DMA/33. No Error Correcting Code (ECC) support is
provided.
The Intel Celeron processor provides ideal performance for applications
running on operating systems such as Windows 95. The processor core has
7.5 million transistors and is based on Intel's 0.25 micron CMOS process
technology. The Intel Celeron processor also benefits from the same P6
microarchitecture core as the Pentium II processor.
The Celeron processor provides a level of performance which is
approximately 10% less than that of a Pentium II processor of the same
speed.
The Celeron processor has several high-performance features:
• Operates at 266 or 300MHz.
• Based on Intel's P6 microarchitecture multi-transaction system bus (the
same microarchitecture the Pentium II processor is based on), operating
at 66MHz.
• Includes Intel's MMX technology, which gives higher performance for
media, communications and 3D applications.
• Offers Dynamic Execution technology to speed up software performance.
• Based on Intel's 0.25 micron manufacturing process for increased
processor core frequencies and reduced power consumption.
• Includes a 32KB (16KB data / 16KB instruction) non-blocking, level-one
cache that provides fast access to heavily used data.
• Available in Single Edge Processor Package (SEPP) form factor, which
maintains compatibility with Slot 1.
