Accessing digital music stored on other computers on the network
To access digital music files stored on another computer on the network you must:
1. Turn on File Sharing.
2. Share the folder where the files are stored.
3. Set up the Audio Receiver Manager to search the other computer's hard drive for digital music files.
NOTE: We recommend that you only store your digital music files on the Receiver's
server PC. Playing digital music files located on a computer other than the
server PC through the Receiver, can negatively impact the performance of
both the PCs and the network. This is because files are activated on the PC
where they are located and then streamed through the network to the server
PC and then to the Receiver.
Turning on File Sharing
WARNING: If you own a cable modem or are connected to the Internet via DSL,
enabling File Sharing may allow computers outside your network on the Internet
to see and access your computer and any files or folders you share. Therefore we
recommend that you contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or network
administrator for assistance in configuring your system to guard against such
access.
