VAIO MX Computer Getting Started Guide
I cannot record or check out audio files, even though the maximum recording
time has not been reached.
Small amounts of data from audio files (tracks) may remain "scattered" on a
MiniDisc media as you record or erase several times on the same media. The
MiniDisc drive recognizes this scattered data as individual tracks. You cannot
continue recording when the MiniDisc media contains 255 tracks of scattered
data and complete audio files.
To maintain efficient use of your MiniDisc media, you can:
Delete unnecessary tracks from the MiniDisc media.
Limit the amount of editing (dividing and combining) performed on your
tracks.
Use another MiniDisc media.
I cannot write or edit an audio file title.
The MiniDisc media restricts the number of characters allowed in a file title.
When this limit has been reached, you cannot write or edit the title.
My recording time on the MiniDisc does not increase after removing audio files.
Erasing short audio files may not increase overall MiniDisc storage capacity.
Depending on the recording mode in use, deleting audio tracks of a certain size
does not change the display of remaining time or space. This restriction applies to
the following modes and audio file sizes:
SP mode: less than 12 seconds
LP2 mode: less than 24 seconds
LP4 mode: less than 48 seconds
I cannot combine my audio tracks.
Music tracks that are less than eight seconds in length, edited music tracks, and
tracks with different recording modes, such as SP, LP2 and LP4, cannot be
combined on a MiniDisc media.
The remaining time displayed for my MiniDisc is incorrect.
The remaining time displayed for audio tracks with different recording modes,
such as SP, LP2, and LP4 may be inaccurate.
