To configure a Gigabit Ethernet interface and enter interface configuration mode, use the
interface gigabitethernet slot/port global configuration command.
To configure a Gigabit Ethernet interface and enter interface configuration mode on a Cisco 7200 VXR
router used as a router-shelf in an AS5800 Universal Access Server, use the
interface gigabitethernet router-shelf/slot/port global configuration command.
