Clip-on Cutting Wheel Guard Attachment
WARNING:
• Read all safety warnings and instructions of both of the tool and the accessory.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
• Check if there are no cracks or breakage on the attachment before use. • Make sure that the hook
and lock lever of the attachment holds the wheel guard before use. • When removing the attachment,
allow attachments to cool down after use.
Installing or removing clip-on cutting wheel guard attachment
WARNING:
The clip-on cutting wheel guard attachment is for use in combination with a grinding
wheel guard. It is designed only for use with a Makita grinding wheel guard that has the following
features, and mounts to the tool as shown.
Wheel diameter

Wheel guard thickness
Max. wheel thickness
*Only for the US, the wheel guard thickness for 150 mm (6") wheel is to be 41 - 44 mm (1-5/8" - 1-3/4").
NOTE:
• Not available in some countries such as Korea, Taiwan and mainland China. • You may not set
the clip-on cutting wheel guard on some wheel guards with the hole.

For cutting-off operation, the clip-on cutting wheel guard attachment may be convenient, instead of the
special wheel guard designed for cut-off wheels.
To install, slide and push the lock lever to unlock it. Hook the wheel guard attachment to the wheel guard
first and then fit the lock lever to the other side of the wheel guard. After that, return the lock lever.

To remove, slide and push the lock lever to unlock it. After that remove the wheel guard attachment from
the wheel guard.

Operation
CAUTION:
• Do not expose the wheel guard attachment to a large amount of spark for an extended
time. Doing so may damage the wheel guard attachment and result in personal injury by the spark.
• If you notice cracks, breakage, or other abnormal status during an operation, immediately abort
cutting and check the tool, wheel, and wheel guard attachment.
When cutting, position the guard and put the wheel on the workpiece as illustrated to let the spark
ejected away from you. Failure to do so may direct the spark toward you. ►Fig.4
