Steering lock
The steering lock is deactivated when the
remote control key is inserted into the ignition
switch and is activated when the key is
removed from the lock.
Activate the steering lock when leaving the car
to reduce the risk of car theft.

For information on the remote control key's dif-
ferent key positions, see page 73.
2 For cars with Keyless drive* the steering lock is deactivated when the START/STOP ENGINE button is pressed in for the first time. The steering lock is activated when the engine is switched off
and the driver's door is opened.
