LUBRICATION & PERIODIC MAINTENANCE Transmission Oil & Filters Transmission oil lubricates transmission, center hous- ing, and rear axles and also serves as hydraulic fluid. Transmission oil and filter should be changed after first 50 hours of operation and then every 400 hours thereafter.
TG6375, 6405, 6495, 6625, 6675 FIG. 199: To Clean Transmission Oil Filters (HST Type) - With oil drained, unscrew transmission oil filter (6) from adapter (filter wrench may be required), and transmission oil suction filter (7) from transmission case. Clean them, dry thoroughly and then reinstall them. If filter is damaged, replace it with new one.
LUBRICATION & PERIODIC MAINTENANCE COOLING SYSTEM CAUTION: Do not open the radiator cap except when checking or replacing the coolant. Make sure to allow the engine to cool sufficiently before opening the cap. If the cap is opened while the engine is hot, coolant may be discharged, resulting in a burn or other injury.
TG6375, 6405, 6495, 6625, 6675 Use of Anti-Freeze Freezing of the coolant may result in damage to the engine. Mix in 50/50anti-freeze (Long Life Coolant) when the outside temperature will drop below 0 °C (32 °F) during the winter. The mixture ratio of anti-freeze differs depending upon the anti-freeze manufacturer and temperature.
FIG. 206: Correct fan belt tension helps to insure adequate coolant flow through the cylinder block and radiator. (TG6375/ 6405 / 6495) The belt is correctly tensioned when belt deflection is approximately 14 mm (0.551 in) as shown at “x” when thump pressure (10 kgf) is exerted at the center of belt span.
TG6375, 6405, 6495, 6625, 6675 ENGINE AIR CLEANER IMPORTANT: Never operate the engine with the air filters removed. Cleaning Air Cleaner / Vacuator Valve FIGS. 208 & 209: The engine air cleaner (1) is located above the engine. To service the engine air cleaner, gain access, open the hood.
LUBRICATION & PERIODIC MAINTENANCE FUEL SYSTEM (TG6375 / 6405 / 6495) Use only clean diesel fuel of correct grade. Introduc- tion of water or dirt into fuel tank or other portion of fuel system can cause repeated plugging of fuel filter and possible injection pump and injector damage.
TG6375, 6405, 6495, 6625, 6675 Air-Bleeding Fuel System FIG. 213: To bleed air from the fuel system: • Fill the fuel tank. • Turn the main switch “ON” and turn the fuel cock to “AIR”. If the engine still fails to start, pressure injection line can be loosened where they attach to the injectors.
LUBRICATION & PERIODIC MAINTENANCE FUEL SYSTEM (TG6625 / 6675) Use only clean diesel fuel of correct grade. Introduc- tion of water or dirt into fuel tank or other portion of fuel system can cause repeated plugging of fuel filter and possible injection pump and injector damage. IMPORTANT: Do not tamper with injection pump or injector adjustment.
TG6375, 6405, 6495, 6625, 6675 Air-Bleeding Fuel System FIG. 219: To bleed air from the fuel system: • Fill the fuel tank. • Set the fuel filer cock (1) downward (open). • Feed the fuel by fuel pump. • Loosen the air bleeding bolt (2) and then bleed air by activating the pump at Pre-filter manually.
LUBRICATION & PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AIR CONDITIONER FILTER Inspect and clean air conditioner filter once a month. Otherwise, lowering of air volume or the breakage of air conditioner could be caused. NOTE: Depending on using condition, inspecting and cleaning interval is changed. FIG.
TG6375, 6405, 6495, 6625, 6675 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Battery FIG. 222: Battery (1) is located under engine hood in front of radiator. When battery is removed, electrolyte inspection or cable cleaning is necessary. Keep top of battery clean and ensure cable connec- tions are clean and tight.
