NFS Share

Network File System (NFS) protocol provides access control
(for UNIX-based file systems) and is implemented by granting permissions to
specific client systems and groups, using network names.
NOTE:
NFS is not available on Windows Storage Server 2008 Basic Edition.

Identity Mapping

Before creating the NFS share, the administrator must configure Identity
Mapping.
The identity mapping source can be any one of the following:
Microsoft Active Directory domain name server (Microsoft Windows
Server 2003 domain controller or Microsoft Windows Server 2008 domain
controller)
User Name Mapping (UNM) server
Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS)
Choose the appropriate option from the four available options, perform the
actions, and proceed to the configuration steps followed by steps for creating
NFS share.
Option 1: Windows 2003 Domain Controller as Identity Mapping Source
Go to the Windows 2003 Domain Controller and install Identity
Management for UNIX.
NOTE:
You may need the Windows 2003 SP 2 CD/DVD.
If required, insert the Windows 2003 SP 2 CD/DVD and perform the
following:
1 Click Add or Remove Programs Add or Remove Windows
Components Active Directory Services.
2 Click Details.
3 Select Identity Management for Unix and click Next to complete the
installation.
NOTE:
