5000 Software Update and Version
DX
There are four different Software installations. Each one must be followed carefully. Installing the
wrong type software may cause difficulties. Check your radio before installing software to be sure
which updates are needed.
If multiple software installations are required the MAIN software should be installed first, as it is the
only one that requires a hard reset (FAST+LOCK).
The latest versions are listed below with the release dates.
MAIN Software Version 0111 (7/28/10)
Edsp Software Version 0529 (12/17/10)
DMU-2000 Software Version (Option): Please refer to the DMU-2000 update information on our
website.
EDSP-5000 Programming Writer Version 1.07 (7/09/10)
Implements improvements
Main： Ver. 0111 (7/28/10)
Corrected the STBY output delay when using the DIN connector for an external amplifier.
EDSP： Ver. 0529 (12/17/10)
Correct the lock up problem when setting the RX DSP Filter to "SOFT" and the manual Notch
Filter to ON at the same time. (Default setting is "SHARP")
EDSP-5000： Ver. 1.07 (7/09/10)
Extended writer time out.
We recommend: if you have any previous EDSP 5000 programming writer on your computer, that
you delete this before using the EDSP-5000： Ver. 1.07. Always use the latest version writer.

Fig. 1 Fig. 2 ・ MAIN Software Version The version number will be shown on the VFD CLAR (Clarifier) display. See Fig. 2 and 3 (example MAIN software version V0106)．...

See Fig. 2 and 3 (example EDSP software version MAIN: V0510 and SUB V0510)． Fig. 3 ・ OEL (OLED) Software Version The version number will be shown on the CLAR/VFO-B DIAL display (Left side). See Fig. 2 and 4 (example OEL software version V0110).
  • Page 4 Install the data file to PC [The following procedures are provided to update the data file from the Yaesu website] 1. Download the FT 5000 data file [FTdx5000 12-17-10.zip] from the following website: http://www.yaesu.com/indexVS.cfm?cmd=DisplayProducts&ProdCatID=102&encProdID=12FF 98B9C73C8988F2398C979793E2E1&DivisionID=65&isArchived=0 2. Save the FT 5000 data file [FTdx5000 12-17-10.zip] to the desktop on your computer.

Please see the DMU-2000 Data Management Operation Manual for the procedure to save your settings to a CF card.

If you are sequentially installing more than one software EDSP, OLED and SM-5000 LCD type, it is not necessary to turn off the rear panel Main power switch or disconnect the AC and programming cables until all of the software is installed.
  • Page 8 NOTE: If you receive a “Communications Error” message on your screen you should check the COM port number and speed under Device Manager. The writing speed 38.4kbps is fixed in the download algorithm of the EDSP board so you may need to set the port speed close to 38.4kbps.
