When navigating with the iGPS receiver: Choose from one of three routing methods: Fastest, Shortest, Avoid freeways. Display the street name of the next turn at the bottom of screen. Show the distance and direction of the next turn. Show the distance to your final destination. Voice prompt for reliable route guidance.
1. Installing the Software 1.1 Installing the Ostia Navigation Software 1) Make sure your Pocket PC is synchronized with your Desktop/Laptop PC. 2) Insert the Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive, and the installation screen should appear on the screen if Auto-Run is enabled.
1.2 Installing the MapFinder Software Overview – MapFinder is an all-in-one utility that allows you to search for maps anywhere in the country, select the map or group of maps you wish to download, and download the selected maps to your PC, Pocket PC, or any storage media attached in either device.
2.1 Selecting maps There are two methods that can be used to select a map(s) you want to use. 1. Searching -A city name or zip code can be entered in the search field and either a single map or several maps within a given radius can be found by clicking the Search button.
2. Clicking directly on the map -By placing the mouse cursor directly on top of a small map on the screen, the information for that map will be displayed. -Double-clicking an area on the US map will cause that area to be selected and remain highlighted.

1. Once all the maps are highlighted and selected, at the top right corner of the MapFinder screen there are two choices: - MS ActiveSync – this will transfer maps directly to the Pocket PC or memory card in the Pocket PC via ActiveSync.

4. A series of screens will follow confirming your requested map transfer. Keep clicking OK to continue. The final screen will be a screen displaying the progress of the map transfer process. Once it is finished, MapFinder will return to the map screen and the maps on the Pocket PC or memory card will be ready to use.

3. Getting Started with Ostia Please note: After a route is created, the GPS receiver needs to be enabled in the software before navigation can begin. (See section 7) 3.1 Opening & Viewing a Map 1) Click File à Open 2) A list of all available maps on the device memory or memory card will be listed.
3.2 Finding an Origin or Destination The methods used to find an Origin (route starting point) or Destination (route ending point) are the same; the Origin will be displayed in Green and the Destination in Red. Recent Destination - This will bring up a list of locations (up to 11) that have been recently used as destinations that can be used again. Contacts – This will search the existing Outlook™ Contacts list on the Pocket PC. 1.

3.4 Multiple Stops on a Route This function will allow a route to have several intermediate stops before reaching a final destination. Multiple Stops will be displayed in purple on the map. 1. Click Find à Multi-stop 2. This menu will allow you to find stops using the same methods as stated in the previous section: Contacts, Favorites, Address, Intersection and Point of Interest.

6. Multi-Stop Route Screen - On this screen the stops can be arranged in any particular order for a route. - Selecting Multi-Stop Route will include any stops on the list into the route. - Optimize will create the most direct route through all of the stops.
4. Smart Navigator These functions will allow the user to access the Pharos Traffic and Points of Interest servers. These will provide up- to-date traffic info for selected cities as well as an expanded selection of points of interest including gas stations, banks, hotels and many more.
For both Mobile Traffic and Mobile Points of Interest, the information downloaded to the Pocket PC can be toggled on or off in the View menu. 4.1 Smart Traffic 1. 5.4.1 Options (subcategory of Tools) Auto Re- Enabling this option will have the software route automatically calculate a new route if the GPS indicator goes off the calculated route. Heading Up Enabling this option will set the display to always show the GPS indicator pointing towards the top of the screen with a compass in the lower right of the screen.

6. Ostia Toolbar Functions 6.1 GPS Status Indicator/ Enabling the GPS receiver The Happy Face on the menu bar indicates the current status of the GPS receiver. TAPPING THE GPS STATUS INDICATOR WILL ALLOW THE GPS TO BE ENABLED AS WELL. Red Face = The Pocket PC is not receiving data from the GPS receiver.
6.2 Zoom-in/Zoom-out Either one of these buttons can be used to bring up the zoom scroll bar to adjust the current view of the map.
