Workaround: In QuickTools, select Fabric > Rediscover Fabric to refresh the PortWWN field in-
formation.
Issue: When the maximum SMI-S connections are configured, the SMI-S listener may timeout and
E_Ports may be taken offline and then back online.
Workaround: Do not configure more than four SMI-S listeners.
Issue: SMI-S may become unresponsive when SMI-S is processing a data request and an
edit/modify/save sequence occurs at the same time.
Workaround: Do not use an application that uses SMI-S on the switch and causes the issue to
occur. If the issue be does occur, reset the switch to correct the unresponsive SMI-S functions. Note
that this action is disruptive to attached devices and should be planned accordingly.
Issue: SMI-S indications fail intermittently where an application using SMI-S on the switch has
subscribed to receive change indications, but are not sent by the switch. The application that is
using SMI-S could show inaccurate switch conditions.
Workaround: Do not use an application that uses SMI-S on the switch and subscribes to receive
change indications, unless the switch conditions used or displayed by the application are not relied
upon for your SAN management.
Issue: After zoning changes are mode on a B-Series or Brocade remote fabric, an HBA in the
local 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch sometimes does not see new targets.
Workaround: Reset ports on B-Series or Brocade switches where affected devices are attached.
Issue: A switch port connected to an HP StorageWorks 81E PCle FC HBA (LPe12000 HBA) or HP
StorageWorks 82E PCle FC HBA (Lpe12002 HBA) may report bad frames, or CRC, or Decode
errors when the switch port is set offline and then back online.
Workaround: These errors can be ignored when ports are being taken Offline and then Online.
Issue: The CLI log message SM — cannot send a message to Diagnostics may occur
after a switch reset.
Workaround: This log message can be ignored.
Issue: QuickTools intermittently is unable to display devices in the Devices tab or Edit Zoning
window with a switch Domain ID of 255.
Workaround: Close the QuickTools session and then start a new QuickTools session.
Issue: QuickTools is unable to rename the New Folder created in a save dialog box.
Workaround: This is caused by the Sun Java bug #6709449, which was introduced in version
1.6.0_04. The workaround is to run with an earlier Java version (the minimum version is 1.4.2).
Issue: SMI-S Indication is not sent when deleting a switch, if the SMI-S agent switch is not the
principal switch in the fabric.
Workaround: Ensure that the SMI-S agent switch is the principal switch in the fabric.
Issue: In QuickTools, if the open file option in the edit zoning dialog is chosen, text disappears
when the scroll bar is used to see files to the right.
Workaround: This is caused by Sun Java bugs #6684952 and #6578753, which were introduced
in 1.6.0_02. The workaround is to run with an earlier Java version (the minimum version is 1.4.2).
Issue: If a CLI session is open to a switch with IPv6 enabled and IPv4 disabled, and SSCM is used
to enable IPv4, then "command result: 0a141e28" is repeated within the CLI session, where
0a141e28 is the hexadecimal representation of the IPv4 address.
Workaround: Close the CLI session and open a new one.
Issue: When the switch IP address has been changed, and this information is queried using SNMP
(connUnitURL .1.3.6.1.3.94.1.6.1.10), the returned value is not correct.
