Turn off the circuit breakers and the wall switch to the fan supply line leads. Failure to disconnect the power supply prior to installation may result in serious injury or death.
- Your fan has 3 mounting options:
- Standard
![]()
- Angled
![]()
- Closemount
![]()
Note: The fans in figures 1 through 3 are not the actual fan in your package, they are representation of the 3 different mounting options.
![]()
If using the angle mount, check to ensure the ceiling angle is not steeper than 16°.
Helpful Hint: Standard mounting is best suited for ceilings 8 ft. or higher. For taller ceilings you may want to use a longer downrod (sold separately). Angled mounting is best suited for angled or vaulted ceilings. A longer downrod is sometimes necessary to ensure proper blade clearance. Closemount-style mounting is more suitable for ceilings lower than 8 ft. (2,44 m) high.
- Ensure that the blades of the fan are 30 in. (76 cm) from any obstruction.
- Check the downrod length to ensure the blades will be at least 7 ft. (2,14 m) above your floor.
MOUNTING BRACKET INSTALLATION
- Loosen all mounting bracket screws. Remove the two mounting bracket screws and washers from the round holes of canopy. Set aside for later use. Detach mounting bracket from canopy (Fig. 4).
![]()
![]()
- Secure the mounting bracket to the outlet box using screws, spring washers, and flat washers provided with the outlet box (not included).
![]()
Note: It is very important that you use proper hardware when installing the mounting bracket as it supports the fan.
![]()
If using the angle mount, ensure that the open end of the mounting bracket is installed facing the peak of the ceiling.
STANDARD OR ANGLE MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
- Partially loosen the motor housing set screws in the yoke at the top of the motor housing.
![]()
- Remove the downrod pin and downrod clip from the downrod (Fig. 7).
![]()
![]()
- Thread the wires from the motor assembly through the yoke cover, canopy, and out the top of the downrod.
![]()
- Slide the downrod into the yoke of the motor housing, align the holes, and reinstall the downrod pin and downrod clip. Then retighten the set screws.
![]()
- Depending on the length of downrod you use, you may need to cut the lead wires back to simplify the wiring. If you decide to cut back the lead wires, it is suggested that you do so in the following manner: Take the lead wires and make sure that you have pulled them all the way through the top of the downrod and measure 8 in. of lead wire, and then cut the excess wire off with wire cutters (not included).
![]()
- If you cut back the lead wire in Step 10, strip 1/2 in. of insulation from the end of each wire. Twist the stripped ends of each strand of wire within the insulation with pliers (not included).
![]()
Note: If you did not cut back the lead wires in Step 10, Step 11 is not necessary and you may proceed to Step 12 instead. - Install the ball end of the downrod into the mounting bracket opening. Align the slot in the ball with the tab in the mounting bracket. The rod should not rotate if installed correctly.
![]()
LIGHT KIT INSTALLATION
- (Optional) To install the fan without a light kit:
Unscrew the hex nut located inside the switch housing cap from the threaded rod in the center of the cap to remove the light kit and wiring.
![]()
- Remove the screws and washers from the upper switch housing. Align holes in switch housing cap with holes in upper switch housing. Re-insert screws and washers that were previously removed. Use a Phillips screwdriver (not included) to secure all screws. Plug the hole in the switch housing cap with the plastic cap (Fig. 23).
Proceed to step 29.
![]()
![]()
- To install the fan with a light kit:
Remove screws and washers from upper switch housing. Then connect the plug from the motor assembly to the plug from the light kit, matching the colors on each plug. Ensure that the plugs connect tightly.
![]()
- Align holes in the switch housing cap with holes in upper switch housing. Re-insert screws and washers that were previously removed. Use a Phillips screwdriver (not included) to secure all screws (Fig. 25).
![]()
![]()
- Install each bulb (Fig. 26).
![]()
When replacing the bulb, allow bulb and light kit to cool before touching.
![]()
- Remove the preinstalled rubber washer, nut, finial cap, and finial from the light kit.
![]()
- Feed pull chain through the center hole in the glass globe, rubber washer and nut. Lift the glass globe and rubber washer over the threaded rod. Screw the nut onto the threaded rod to temporarily hold the glass globe in place. Feed the pull chains through both holes in the finial cap and the center hole in the finial and lift the finial cap up until it is flush with the glass globe. Screw the finial onto the threaded rod to hole the light kit in place.
![]()
- The pull chain extensions or custom pull chains extensions (included) may be attached to fan and light pull chains (Fig. 29).

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Use the fan reverse switch, located on the side of the light kit, to optimize your fan for seasonal performance (Fig. 30).
Using a ceiling fan will allow you to raise your thermostat in the summer and lower your thermostat in the winter without sacrificing comfort.
![]()
Wait for the fan to stop before moving the reverse switch. The reverse switch must be set either completely left or right in order for the fan to function correctly. If the reverse switch is set in the middle position, the fan will not operate.
![]()
- In warmer weather, push the reverse switch left, which will result in downward airflow creating a wind chill effect (Fig. 31).
Note: Energy savings are possible by turning on the ceiling fan and setting the thermostat a few degrees warmer. To maximize savings, turn ceiling fan off when no one is in the room.
![]()
- In cooler weather, push the reverse switch right and the fan to low, which will result in upward airflow that can help move stagnant, hot air off the ceiling area. By mixing the air, the heat may not have to run as often and may yield energy savings.

![]()
When using an existing outlet box, make sure the outlet box is securely attached to the building structure and can support the full weight of the fan. Failure to do this can result in serious injury or death. The stability of the outlet box is essential in minimizing wobble and noise in the fan after installation is complete.
![]()
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use the fan with any solid-state speed-control device or control the fan speed with a full-range dimmer switch.
![]()
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, do not bend the blade arms when installing them, balancing the blades, or cleaning the fan. Do not insert objects between the rotating fan blades.
![]()
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, mount the fan to an outlet box marked "ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT" and use the mounting screws provided with the outlet box. Most outlet boxes commonly used for the support of lighting fixtures are not acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt. Secure the outlet box directly to the building structure. The outlet box and its support must be able to support the moving weight of the fan, at least 35 lbs. (15,88 kg).
![]()
Be sure the outlet box is properly grounded or that a ground (green or bare) wire is present.
