    Product description 1 – Smoke ingression openings 2 – Environmental monitoring with 3 sensors 3 – User key 4 – Red light diode (LED) General information The high-quality optical smoke detector (RWM) works accord- ing to the principle of scattered light. In the smoke chamber, a ray of light is scattered by penetrating smoke particles so that parts of the ray of light fall on a photo cell.

    For this, press the user key once until you hear a quiet warning tone. Special case: Label on the user key “Annual visual inspection” with a resulting annual function test by Techem. Never use a naked flame or other types of smoke to test the RWM.
  • Page 6 Disassembly/re-assembly information For renovation work, the RWM may be dismantled/covered for a maximum of 14 days (if disassembly is not possible). After this period, a malfunction will be indicated. After conclusion of the work, please re-assemble the RWM as fast as possible or remove the cover.

    Malfunction Causes of malfunctions include:  Painting over, masking or covering the RWM  Disassembly  Items in the area of environmental monitoring  Technical fault If rectification of the fault cause is not possible, please call the hotline 0800 2001264 (free of charge) as fast as possible. (If possible, call from the apartment affected.) For safety reasons, keep the doors to rooms with functional RWMs open until the fault has been rectified.
