REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER (KEY FOB)

1. Lock
   Press to lock all doors and tailgate.
2. Unlock
   Press to unlock the driver's door.
   Press again to unlock all doors and tailgate.
3. Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm
   Press and release to locate your vehicle.
   Press and hold to activate the alarm.
   Press again to cancel the alarm.

4. Remote Vehicle Start
   Press twice to start the engine from outside the vehicle. After entering the vehicle, press the ENGINE START/STOP button.

• The engine will run for 15 minutes. Press the button twice again to extend the remote start.
• To cancel a remote start, press the button until the parking lamps turn off.

Note: To change the remote settings, go to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start on the infotainment screen.

KEYLESS ACCESS

The Keyless Access System enables operation of the front doors without removing the Remote Keyless Entry transmitter (key fob) from your pocket or bag. The key fob must be within 3 feet of the door being unlocked/locked.

KEYLESS UNLOCKING

With the key fob within range:

• Press the button on the driver's door to unlock the driver's door or all doors and tailgate.
• Press the button on the passenger door handle to unlock all doors and tailgate.

KEYLESS LOCKING

With the ignition off, the key fob removed from the vehicle, and all doors closed:

• Press the button on a front door handle to lock all doors and tailgate immediately.
• All doors will lock automatically after a short delay if Passive Locking is turned on in the Settings menu.

Note: To change the lock settings, go to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock and Start on the infotainment screen.

KEYLESS (PUSH-BUTTON) START

The Remote Keyless Entry transmitter (key fob) must be in the vehicle to turn on the ignition.

STARTING THE ENGINE/ON

• With the transmission in Park or Neutral, press the brake pedal and then press the ENGINE START/STOP button to start the engine. The green button indicator will illuminate.

Note: If the key fob battery is weak, place the key fob in the right cupholder in the center console to enable the engine to start. Replace the key fob battery as soon as possible.

STOPPING THE ENGINE/OFF

• Shift to Park and then press the ENGINE START/STOP button to turn off the engine.

ACCESSORY MODE

• With the engine off and the brake pedal not applied, press the ENGINE START/ STOP button to place the ignition in Accessory Mode. The amber button indicator will illuminate.

AUTO ENGINE STOP/START OPERATION

The fuel-saving Engine Stop/Start system automatically turns off the engine, referred to as an Auto Stop, when the brake pedal is applied and the vehicle is at a complete stop, if certain operating conditions are met. When stopped, the displays in the Driver Information Center. The engine may remain running or restart when the vehicle is stopped, depending on current operating conditions. When the brake pedal is released or the accelerator pedal is pressed, the engine will restart.

AUTO STOP DISABLE

• Press the Auto Stop button on the center of the instrument panel. The button indicator will turn off.

The Engine Stop/Start system is enabled each time the vehicle is started.

ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE

• To apply the parking brake, pull the Parking Brake switch on the center console.
• To release the parking brake, turn on the ignition, press the brake pedal, and then press the switch.

DRIVER'S MEMORY SETTINGSF

SET MEMORY POSITIONS

1. With the vehicle in Park, adjust the driver's seat and power outside mirrors to the desired positions.
2. Press and release the SET button and then press and hold button 1 or 2 on the driver's door until two beeps sound.

To store a seat position for more clearance when exiting the vehicle, repeat these steps using the Exit button instead of button 1 or 2.

RECALL POSITIONS

• Press and hold button 1, 2 or Exit until the set position is reached.
• To enable the memory positions to be recalled automatically when the ignition is turned on/off (for exit recall, the driver's door must be opened), go to Settings > Vehicle > Seating Position > Seat Entry Memory and Seat Exit Memory on the infotainment screen.

DIGITAL DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER

The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays a variety of vehicle messages and system information. Controls are on the right side of the steering wheel.

DIC CONTROLS

• Press the Display button to view and scroll through the cluster pages.
• Press the or switch to scroll through the menus.
• Press the switch to select an item.

CLUSTER DISPLAY AND GAUGES

• With the Gauges page displayed, press and hold the Display button to change the gauges. Press the or switch to scroll through the options; press the switch to select the desired option. Some gauges will be displayed based on the current Driver Mode.

VEHICLE INFORMATION

• Press the Vehicle Information icon on the infotainment screen to view all available vehicle information.
• When viewing an item, select Add to Driver Display to display an item or Remove from Display to remove an item on the driver display.
• To reset the current trip odometer, select Reset under the Trip Information option.

VEHICLE CUSTOMIZATIONF

Some features can be turned on/off or customized using the Controls and Settings menus on the infotainment screen, including Buckle to Drive, Teen Driver, Exterior Lamps, IntelliBeam Auto Headlamps, Traction Control and others.

1. Select Controls or Settings on the Home page.
2. Select the desired menu item.
3. Select the desired feature and setting.
4. Press<Back to exit each menu.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

• Select the Automatic Light Control icon (A) at the top of the infotainment screen to turn the auto headlamps on/off.
• To operate the exterior lamp controls, go to Controls > Lights > Headlights on the infotainment screen.

INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM

Read your Owner's Manual for important information about using the infotainment system while driving.

The infotainment system uses a Bluetooth or USB connection to link to a compatible device, such as a smartphone or portable audio player/iPod®, and offers hands-free voice control. For assistance, call 1-855-4-SUPPORT (1-855-478-7767) or visit gmc.com/support.

MANAGING HOME PAGE ICONS

1. Press the Home icon.
2. To enter edit mode, touch and hold the Home page icon to move.
3. Continue holding the icon and drag it to the desired position, and then release.

STORING FAVORITES

Radio stations from all bands (AM, FM or SiriusXM) can be stored in any order.

1. Tune in a radio station. The sources menu is at the top of the Audio page.
2. Select the desired page of favorite buttons.
3. Touch and hold one of the favorite buttons to save the station.

SIRIUSXM WITH 360L™

The personalized content of SiriusXM with 360L offers more than 200 channels, including ad-free music, sports, comedy, talk and news, along with access to On Demand shows, performances and interviews. Certain features require a SiriusXM subscription and a Connected Access plan. See siriusxm.com and onstar.com for details.
Note: Your Canyon has over-the-air software update capability. If you're using a 3rd-party device connected to the Data Link Connector, it may inhibit the vehicle from receiving updates when software is available.

GOOGLE BUILT-IN†

Google built-in provides access to your favorite apps, including Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play.
Google Assistant – Talk to Google to get hands-free help. Easily get directions, play media, control vehicle functions and more.

• To start, say "Hey Google," tap the Google Assistant icon in the App Tray on the Home page, or press the Push to Talk button on the steering wheel.

Google Maps – Reach your destination faster with real-time traffic information, automatic rerouting and voice control. Sign in for personalized maps with home and recent locations.
Google Play – Download some of your favorite apps in your vehicle just as you would on your phone to listen to music, podcasts, audiobooks and more.

• Sign in to your Google Account to get your apps, messages, custom directions and more in your vehicle.

Note: Google built-in services are subject to limitations and availability may vary by vehicle, infotainment system and location. Select service plan required. Certain Google actions and functionality may require account linking. User terms and privacy statements apply.

APPLE CARPLAY® AND ANDROID AUTO™†

Apple CarPlay or Android Auto capability is available through a compatible phone using the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto icon on the Home page.

1. There are two ways to set up device projection:
   • Wireless Connection – Connect your phone by pairing it to the in-vehicle Bluetooth system. Turn on wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto in your phone's settings.
   • Wired Connection – Connect your phone to a USB data port using the USB cable provided with your phone. Aftermarket USB cables may not work.
2. Follow the instructions on the infotainment system and the phone.
3. The Apple CarPlay or Android Auto icon will illuminate when connected. Touch the icon to have your apps displayed.

• To exit Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, press the Home icon.

4G LTE WI-FI HOTSPOTF

With the vehicle's available built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, up to 7 devices (smartphones, tablets and laptops) can be connected to high-speed internet. For information about the standard 3-year Onstar & Connected Services Plan, visit onstar.com.

• To retrieve the name and password for the hotspot, select the Wi-Fi Hotspot icon or go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi Hotspot on the infotainment system.

BLUETOOTH^® SYSTEM

Read your Owner's Manual for important information about using the Bluetooth system while driving.
Before using a Bluetooth-enabled device in the vehicle, it must be paired with the invehicle Bluetooth system. The vehicle must be stopped to pair a device. Not all devices will support all functions. Visit gmc.com/support for more information.

PAIR A PHONE

1. To use voice recognition, press the Push to Talk button; after the beep, say "Pair my phone." To use the infotainment screen, select the Phone icon > Manage Phones > Add Phone.
2. Start the pairing process on your phone. From the phone's Bluetooth settings, select the name shown on the infotainment screen.
3. Follow the pairing instructions.
4. When pairing is complete, the phone screen is displayed.

FIRST TO CONNECT PAIRED PHONES

Multiple phones can be paired to the Bluetooth system. The system connects to the phone that is set as First to Connect.

• To set the First to Connect phone, select Settings > Connections > Phone > Options for the connected phone > First to Connect.

WIRELESS PHONE CHARGINGF

The wireless phone charging system for smartphones is located at the front of the center console. To check device compatibility, visit gmc.com/support. See your phone retailer for details on required phone accessories.

1. The vehicle must be on, or Retained Accessory Power must be active.
2. Remove all objects from the charging pad.
3. Place the phone, screen up, on the pad.
4. The charging symbol will appear on the infotainment screen when charging.

TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRAK SYSTEMS

The Traction Control system limits wheelspin and the StabiliTrak^® electronic stability control system assists with directional control of the vehicle in difficult driving conditions. Both systems turn on automatically every time the vehicle is started. Turn off Traction Control if the vehicle is stuck and rocking the vehicle is required.

• To turn traction control or electronic stability control (ESC) on or off, go to Controls > Drive & Park > Traction Control on the infotainment screen.

CRUISE CONTROL

SETTING CRUISE CONTROL

• Press the On/Off button. The Cruise Control symbol will illuminate in white on the instrument cluster.
• When traveling at the desired speed, press down the switch to the SET position to set the speed. The symbol will illuminate in green on the instrument cluster.

ADJUSTING CRUISE CONTROL

+RES Resume/Accelerate
Press up to resume a set speed. When active, press once to increase speed 1 mph; press and hold to continue increasing speed.
–SET Set/Coast
When active, press down once to decrease speed 1 mph; press and hold to continue decreasing speed.
Cancel
Press the button, or press the brake pedal, to cancel Cruise Control without erasing the set speed from memory.
The set speed is erased when Cruise Control or the vehicle ignition is turned off.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

The system maintains the set speed and a following gap — the time between your vehicle and a vehicle detected directly ahead — by accelerating or braking automatically while you continue to steer.

• Press the Following Gap switch to select a targeted following gap setting of Far, Medium or Near. This is also the Forward Collision Alert setting.
• Press and hold the Cancel button to switch between regular Cruise Control and Adaptive Cruise Control.

HEAD-UP DISPLAY

The Head-Up Display (HUD) projects some operating information on the windshield. Temporary information and vehicle messages also may be displayed.

• Go to Controls > HUD on the infotainment screen to turn the HUD on/off and to adjust the display brightness and position.

DRIVER MODE SELECTORF/FOUR-WHEEL DRIVEF

DRIVE MODES

The Drive Modes modify the overall driving experience. Each mode automatically adjusts various vehicle settings based on driving preferences, weather and road conditions. Available modes are displayed on the infotainment screen.

• Rotate the control knob on the center console to select a mode. Modes may include:
  Normal – Use for everyday driving.
  Off-Road – Use for enhanced control during off-road driving at moderate speeds.
  Terrain – Use for enhanced control in low-speed off-road conditions in 4HI or 4LO. This mode enables one-pedal driving, which automatically applies the brakes when accelerator pedal position is decreased.
  Tow/Haul – Use when towing or hauling heavy loads in stop-and-go traffic or through rolling terrain.
  Baja (AT4X only) – Use for enhanced control during off-road driving at higher speeds.

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE

• Press an icon on the control knob on the center console to shift the transfer case.

The four-wheel-drive status is displayed on the Driver Information Center. Refer to the Owner's Manual for the shift procedures.

AUTO	Automatic Four-Wheel-Drive High – Use when traction conditions vary.
2	Two-Wheel-Drive High – Use for most streets and highways.
4	Four-Wheel-Drive High – Use when extra traction is needed, or in most off-road driving. Not intended for dry pavement.
4	Four-Wheel-Drive Low – Use when driving off-road in deep sand, mud or snow, or on steep hills. Not intended for dry pavement.
N	Neutral – Use when towing the vehicle.

OFF-ROAD PERFORMANCE DISPLAY

• Select the Off-Road icon on the infotainment screen to display real-time off-road performance data.
  Baja – Displays G-force with maximum values, steering angle and 4WD status.
  Terrain – Displays pitch and roll with maximum values, and tire pressure.
  Overlanding – Displays an altimeter and compass.
• To reset the maximum values achieved, display the value and then select the Reset icon.

DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS

Safety or driver assistance features are not a substitute for the driver's responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Read your Owner's Manual for important feature limitations and information.

• To turn some of the following systems on/off or to change some settings, go to Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection Systems on the infotainment screen.

SAFETY ALERT SEAT – The driver's seat cushion pulses — left, right or both sides — to alert you of the direction of potential hazards. Audible alerts may be selected instead.
FORWARD COLLISION ALERT – The Vehicle Ahead Indicator is green on the instrument cluster when a vehicle that you're following is detected, and it is amber when you're following a vehicle ahead much too closely. When approaching a detected vehicle directly ahead too rapidly, a red alert flashes on the windshield and the Safety Alert Seat pulses or rapid beeps sound (if selected).

• Press the Forward Collision Alert switch on the steering wheel to set the alert timing to Far, Medium or Near.

FOLLOWING DISTANCE INDICATOR – The following distance to the vehicle ahead is indicated in seconds under the Info menu on the Driver Information Center. If no vehicle is detected ahead, dashes are displayed.
Note: Functionality requires a late available over-the-air software update. See your dealer for details.
AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING – The system works with Forward Collision Alert to help you avoid or reduce the severity of front-end collisions with a detected vehicle you're following. Camera technology is used to automatically provide hard emergency braking or enhance the driver's hard braking.
FRONT PEDESTRIAN BRAKING WITH BICYCLIST DETECTION – During daytime driving, the system can detect pedestrians and bicycles directly ahead and displays an amber indicator on the instrument cluster. When approaching a detected pedestrian or bicycle too quickly, a red alert flashes on the windshield and the Safety Alert Seat pulses or rapid beeps sound (if selected). The system may automatically provide hard emergency braking or enhance the driver's hard braking. Nighttime and low-visibility performance are limited.
LANE KEEP ASSIST WITH LANE DEPARTURE WARNING – The system may help you avoid collisions due to unintentional lane departures. The Lane Keep Assist indicator is green if the system is available to assist. If the vehicle approaches a detected lane marking, the system may assist by gently turning the steering wheel to help prevent lane departure and displays an amber . If active driver steering is not detected, the amber may flash and the Safety Alert Seat may pulse or beeps may sound (if selected) on the side of the departure direction as the lane marking is crossed. The system does not continuously steer the vehicle; the driver needs to steer and be in complete control of the vehicle. Alerts do not occur when using the turn signal in the lane departure direction or intentional lane departure is detected.

• To turn on or off, press the Lane Keep Assist button on the instrument panel.

BLIND ZONE STEERING ASSIST – The system works with Lane Keep Assist to help you avoid a potential collision with a detected vehicle in an adjacent lane. While driving, the system displays a warning symbol on the left- or right-side mirror when a moving vehicle is detected rapidly approaching or is in that side blind zone. The warning symbol flashes if a turn signal is activated when a vehicle has been detected on the same side.
If a vehicle is detected in the adjacent lane that you are entering, the system provides an urgent steering wheel turn to alert you to take action and beeps sound. The green Lane Keep Assist indicator will turn amber and the warning symbol will flash on the left- or right-side mirror. The steering correction will occur even when using the turn signal in the lane departure direction.

• To turn on or off, press the Lane Keep Assist button on the instrument panel.

REAR PARK ASSIST – During low-speed parking maneuvers, the system provides "distance to closest object" information on the instrument cluster and the Safety Alert Seat pulses or a beep sounds (if selected). When an object is very close, the Safety Alert Seat pulses or 5 beeps sound (if selected).
REAR CROSS TRAFFIC BRAKING – When in Reverse, the system warns of detected cross-traffic approaching in either direction and provides alerts and hard emergency braking to help reduce the severity of or help avoid collisions at very low speeds.
REAR PEDESTRIAN ALERT – During daytime driving with the vehicle in Reverse, the system can detect pedestrians directly behind the vehicle and will display an amber indicator on the infotainment screen. When a pedestrian is detected close to the vehicle, the indicator flashes red and rapid beeps sound. Nighttime and low-visibility performance are limited.

REAR VISION CAMERA/SURROUND VISION

REAR VISION CAMERA – When the vehicle is in Reverse, a view of the area directly behind the vehicle displays on the infotainment screen.

• Touch the Guidance Lines button on the screen to turn the guidelines on or off.

SURROUND VISION – The system uses multiple cameras to display a high-resolution image of the area around the vehicle along with front- and rear-camera views on the infotainment screen. Camera view buttons are on the bottom of the screen.

• Touch the Guidance Lines/Hitch Guidance button to change guidelines.
• Touch the Top-Down View, Side View or Underbody View button to display a front or rear, sides or underbody view of the vehicle.

PROGRADE TRAILERING SYSTEMF

IN-VEHICLE TRAILERING APP

The in-vehicle trailering app on the infotainment screen allows customized trailer profiles with a variety of helpful towing assistance features, including a hitching and setup checklist, trailer light testing, trailer theft detection and more.

INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL (ITBC)

The ITBC system can be used to adjust the power output, or Trailer Gain, to the trailer brakes. The control panel is on the left side of the instrument panel. ITBC information is displayed on the Driver Information Center.

• Squeeze the control together to manually apply the trailer brakes.
• Adjust the Trailer Gain by pressing the +/– adjustment buttons.

HILL DESCENT CONTROL

Hill Descent Control sets and maintains vehicle speed from 1–19 mph while descending a steep incline in a forward or reverse gear.

1. To turn the system on or off, go to Controls > Drive & Park > Hill Descent Control on the infotainment screen. The symbol will illuminate on the instrument cluster when enabled. Vehicle speed must be below 37 mph to enable the system. The current speed, if below 19 mph, will be the set speed.
2. Adjust speed by applying the accelerator or brake pedal, or use the Cruise Control +/– buttons on the steering wheel. The adjusted speed becomes the new set speed. Thesymbol flashes when the system is actively applying the brakes.

INTEGRATED STORAGE SYSTEM

The tailgate features an integrated storage system.

• With the tailgate open, press down on the storage lid and rotate the handles (A) to the Unlock position. Use the lift tabs on each end (B) to raise the lid.
• To close, make sure the handles (A) are in the Unlock position. Close the lid and then press down on the storage lid and rotate the handles to the Lock position.
