Charging

  • Perform the following steps to charge the trimmer if it seems to lose the speed.
  • Wipe off any water droplets or dirt on the appliance socket.
  • Make sure that the main body is turned off.

  1. Place the main body on the AC adaptor.
    • Insert it in the AC adaptor tightly without any gaps.
Not doing so will not charge the trimmer.
    • If you charge the appliance with power switch turned on, it will start working when you remove from the AC adaptor.
  2. Insert the power plug into a household outlet.
    • Check that the charge indicator lamp glows red.
    • The charging time differs depending on the rated voltage. (See "Specifications".)
  3. Disconnect the power plug after charging is completed.
(for safety and to reduce energy usage)
    • The charge indicator lamp continues to glow after charging is complete.
There is no indication to show that "charging is complete".

Notes

  • You cannot operate the trimmer while charging.
  • If there is noise from the radio or other sources while using or charging the appliance, move to a different location to use the appliance.
  • To keep charging the battery will not affect battery performance.
  • You can charge the battery before it is completely discharged. However, it is recommended to charge when the battery is completely discharged. The battery life depends strongly on factors such as how it is used and stored.
  • Recommended ambient temperature for charging is 0°C – 35°C. Battery performance may decrease outside of the recommended temperature.
  • A full charge supplies enough power for approximately 40 minutes of use. (Based on dry using at 20°C – 30°C) The operating time may differ depending on the frequency of use and the operating method.
  • When the appliance is charged for the first time or it has not been in use for more than 6 months, the charging time may change or the charge indicator lamp may not glow in the first few minutes. In addition, the operating time may become shorter. Please charge it for more than 18 hours in such cases.
  • When the appliance is not used for 6 months or more, the battery will weaken (leak battery fluid etc.). Fully charge the battery once every 6 months.

Using the comb attachment

  • Make sure that the main body is turned off.
  1. Turn the dial to the "1" position.
  2. Mount the comb attachment to the main body until it clicks.
  3. Turn the dial to the desired indicator (between 1 mm and 10 mm).

  • When trimming a short beard, it is effective to increase the number of trimming times in order to keep the beard uniform at the desirable length.
  • It can also be used without the comb attachment. (Trimming height: approx. 0.5 mm)
  • Actual beard length will be a little longer than the height you set.

How to use

  • Make sure that the main body is turned off.
  • Apply the oil to the blade before and after each use. (See "Lubrication".)
  • The appliance may not operate in an ambient temperature lower than approximately 0°C.
  • Check that the blades are not damaged or deformed before use.
  • Before trimming, comb your moustache with a comb.
  • Please clean the appliance after each use. (See "Cleaning the product".)

Dry trimming

Trimming with the comb attachment

  • Do not use with shaving foam applied or when the beard is wet.
  1. Mount the comb attachment and adjust the dial. (See "Using the comb attachment".)
  2. Slide the power switch to the " " position to turn on the trimmer.
  3. Hold the trimmer with the power switch facing upward, and cut the beard by moving the trimmer back against the flow of the beard.
    • Hair trimmings may collect inside the attachment when a large volume of beard is cut, so discard hair trimmings after each use.

Shaping your moustache

  • Above the lips
Place the trimmer at a right angle to your skin with the power switch facing downward and trim around your moustache.

To round out the shape, trim around your moustache by holding the main body sideways.

  • Trimming the edge of beard
Cut your beard gradually with the power switch facing outward, taking care not to cut too much.

Shaping your sideburns
Place the trimmer at a right angle to your skin and cut your sideburns.

Shaping the hair around your ears
Trim the hair around your ears by holding the main body sideways.

  • To maintain sharpness, remove the hair trimmings between trimmings.
  • It is recommended to ask someone else to trim around your own ears and neckline.

Cutting your vellus hair
Cut your beard slowly from the bottom up.

  • Trimming your beard or moustache without an attachment will trim hair length to approx. 0.5 mm.

Wet trimming

Trimming without the comb attachment

  • Cut your beard or vellus hair while applying water, facial cleanser, or shaving cream on your face.
  • Do not use facial cleanser containing scrubbing compounds as it may cause the blade to clog.
  • Wet trimming will decrease the friction, allowing a smooth touch.
  • Wet trimming is recommended to trim a fuller beard to a length of 0.5 mm without an attachment.
  1. Apply water, facial cleanser, or shaving cream to your face.
  2. Slide the power switch to the " " position to turn on the trimmer.
  3. Cut your beard slowly from the bottom up.

Cleaning the product

  • Clean the main body and the blade after each use. (If not cleaned, the motion will become poor and the sharpness will worsen.)
  • Do not use thinner, benzine, alcohol or other chemicals.
Doing so may cause failure, cracking or discoloration of the main body.
Wipe the main body only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with tap water or soapy tap water.
  • Make sure that the main body is turned off.

Before cleaning

  1. Remove the main body from the AC adaptor.
  2. Remove the comb attachment from the main body.
  3. Hold the main body, place your thumb against the blades and then push them away from the main body.

Cleaning with water

  1. Clean the trimmer, the blade and the comb attachment with running water.
    • Rinse with water and shake up and down several times to remove the water.
  2. Wipe off the water with a towel and let it dry naturally.
    • It will dry faster with the blade removed.
  3. Apply the oil to the blade after drying. (See "Lubrication".)
  4. Attach the blade and comb attachment to the main body.

Cleaning with the brush

  1. Brush off any hair trimmings from the main body and from around the blade.
  2. Brush any hair trimmings out from between the stationary blade and the moving blade while pressing down the cleaning lever to raise the moving blade.
  3. Apply the oil to the blade.
  4. Attach the blade and comb attachment to the main body.

Lubrication

  • Apply the oil to the blade before and after each use.
  1. Remove the blade.
  2. Apply a drop of the oil to each indicated point.
  3. Attach the blade to the main body, turn on the power and allow to run for approximately 5 seconds.
