    Product Description The remote annunciator is an easy to install and operate device. Designed to work via an easy/quick connector to the Battery Backup. The remote annunciator is an external device that can be added to another Battery Backup (BBU). The physical interface between the BBU and the HONBDA-BTTY-ANN-5 is a CAT5 or 6 type cable with RJ-45 connectors.

    2. Installation Fiplex by Honeywell Remote Annunciator HONBDA-BTTY-ANN-5 is designed for indoor usage on drywall or wall mounted. To improve reliability, it is not recommended to mount the unit on a site with shelter from direct exposure to sun, rain, snow, or hailing.

  • Page 16 3.4 Wiring The Backup Battery can be connected to 4 annunciators maximum to extend failure signals. The devices can be connected in cascade with the input/output RJ45 connectors. An end of line resistor must be installed at the last annunciator of the cascade. Each Connection Provides 24VDC of supply voltage along with communication data.

    3.5 Ground installation All the electronic and electric devices must be connected to ground for the safety of the user.     3.7 Important Installation Guidelines The following guidelines should be carefully observed for all installations of remote annunciator. • The unit shall be installed by QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL only. • All lines shall remain internal to the building. • The Remote annunciator must be installed in a vertical orientation (connectors on the bottom). •...

    4. LED panel There is an LED annunciator panel located on the front door of the remote annunciator. This LED panel works as a status monitor indicating alarms and is a mirror of the status of the main annunciator located in the BBU. The LED panel has eight LEDs: Color code: Fail/Alarm...

  • Page 22 5. Software 5.1 Introduction From factory, the HONBDA-BTTY-ANN-5 is configured to operate under the UL2524 standard. If the user needs to change a LED or Buzzer assignment the software pFOMS must be used. The pFOMS is a PC software that connects via USB to the remote annunciator.     6. Maintenance The devices must be installed in an ease access for possible servicing and maintenance like the manual advice. The maintenance must be done by an expert in the emergency communication systems. 1) Clean the device just in the exterior of the cabinet. 2) Measure the power supply and the ground of the device, make sure is the same as the manual advice.
