• Place thebiscuitjoinerontheworkpiece withthe
adjustable f enceresting onthelongsideof workpiece.
Thebaseor vertical fenceshouldbeagainst t hemi-
terededgeoftheworkpiece.
• Recheck t hefenceheight s etting to makesureit will
notcutthrough the workpiece.
• Aligntheindicator m arkonthefencewiththe center-
lineontheworkpiece. M ake surethe baseor vertical
fenceis pressed flatagainst t hemitered edgeofthe
workpiece.
• Plugthebiscuitjoinerintothepower supplyandpre-
pareto cutthe slot.
• Depress t heswitchtriggerto turnonthebiscuitjoiner,
thenpushitforward to extend the bladeintothe wood.
• Whenthebaseassembly bottoms out against the
depthof cutadjustment knobsetting, p ullback,releas-
ingpressure o nthespring. T hebladewillretract f rom
the biscuit s lot.
• Repeat thisprocedure f orcuttingthemating slotand
allrequired miter jointslots.
• Once allslotshavebeencut,place a biscuitineach
jointanddry-assemble theworkpieces. Makesure
eachjointlinesupandfits.
• Finally, disassemble w orkpieces a ndplacea beadof
gluein eachslot.Also,spread a beadofglueoverthe
entiresurface ofthejoint.Reinsert thebiscuits andas-
semble workpieces.
• Clamp workpieces t ogether u ntilthegluesetsup.
Iftheworkpieces a reofthesamethickness, c lamp
themsecurely t o a workbench w iththeshortsidesup.
Setthefenceangleat 45°
. Place the biscuit joiner on
the workpiece with the adjustable fence resting on the
short side of the workpiece and the base or vertical
fence against the mitered edge of the workpiece. Fol-
low steps above to cut required slots.
NOTE: Before cutting slots, make sure the blade will
not cut through the workpiece and that both the verti-
cal and horizontal fences are pressed flat against the
mitered edge and face of the workpiece.
