Chapter 1 : INTRODUCTION
1-1. SUPPLIED EQUIPMENT
• 1 REMOTE KEYPAD (RKD100).
• 1 DB9 (M/F) cable (Length = 3 meters).
• 1 User's Manual.
1-2. GENERAL INFORMATION
The REMOTE KEYPAD (RKD100) is a control device for the

OCTO
and Quattro series. The RKD100 is specially designed to be
integrated into a desktop or an electrical 2-gang wall mount box. It
allows driving all the Audio & Video switching. The RKD100 is very
easy to use and to install, since it only requires one cable to connect it. The
RKD100 is auto-powered by the device at which it is connected and doesn't
need any extra power supply.
The RKD100 is also compatible with the OCTO VUE series, but with limited
functions.
1-3. STARTING
Turn OFF your OCTO
Connect the RS-232 connector (DB9 female) of your device to the DB9 male connector of the RKD100 with the
supplied DB9 cable.
Turn ON your OCTO
Select a source with the INPUT SELECTION buttons.
Make the audio adjustment with the AUDIO buttons.

Secondary function selection button.
• Selection of the 8 input sources: 1 to 8.
Button turns ON = source displayed (MAIN).
Button blinking slowly = source displayed on PREVIEW (only if the controlled device
is a Octo Vue Series device).
• Selection of the 4 frames: F1 to F4.
2 Buttons turn ON = frame displayed on output (MAIN).
NOTE: Frame selection can be used only when Fn is active.
• A long push (1 second) on the selected input button turns the output to BLACK : black
screen. A short push on the selected source (turns ON button) displays the corresponding
source on the screen output.
Freezes the output image
Button blinking slowly = FREEZE active.
Allows to display logo onto the output.
Button blinking quickly = LOGO displayed on the output.
NOTE : Logo display can be used only when Fn is active.
Selection of the CUT, FADE & TITLE effects. This function is available only for devices
that include it.
Button turns OFF = CUT,
Button blinking = FADE,
Button turns ON = TITLE.
