Chapter 1 : INTRODUCTION

1-1. SUPPLIED EQUIPMENT

• 1 REMOTE KEYPAD (RK-10).
• 1 DB9 (M/F) cable (Length = 3 meters).
• 1 User's Manual.

1-2. GENERAL INFORMATION

The REMOTE KEYPAD (RK-10) is a control device for the EASY CUT & EASY FADE device. The RK-10 is
specially designed to be integrated into a desktop or an electrical 2-gang wall mount box. It allows driving all the Audio
& Video switching. The RK-10 is very easy to use and to install, since it only requires one cable to connect it. The RK-
10 is auto-powered by the device at which it is connected and doesn't need any extra power supply.

1-3. STARTING

Turn OFF your EASY CUT or EASY FADE (rear panel switch).
Connect the RS-232 connector (DB9 female) of your device to the DB9 male connector of the RK-10 with the
supplied DB9 cable.
Turn ON your EASY CUT or EASY FADE (rear panel switch).
Select a source with the COMPUTER or VIDEO SELECTION buttons.
Select the needed EFFECT (cut, fade or title) and press TAKE.

NOTE: A long push (2 seconds) on the selected input button allows to active the BLACK function. A black screen is
displayed onto the output. A short push on the selected input button allows to switch off the black screen and
display back the last selected source.

Effect selection. This function is available with the EASY FADE only
Cut effect selection (LED turns OFF).
Fade effect selection (LED blinking).
Title effect selection (LED ON).
Allows to turn on or off the audio output (LED turns ON = no sound on output).
Allows to permanently broadcast the same audio source whatever the video source selected.
Select a source with the VIDEO or COMPUTER SELECTION button, then press and hold
the BREAKAWAY button (LED blinking = Breakaway is active).
Audio level adjustment. (Not available).
: Selection of the 3 COMPUTER input sources.
Computer #1 source selection (Input #5).
Computer #2 source selection (Input #6).
Computer #3 source selection (Input #7).
Allows to freeze the displayed output.
Standby. A long push (2 seconds) on this button allows to turns OFF the EASY
CUT/FADE. A short push on any button allows coming out of the standby mode.
Selection of the 4 VIDEO input sources.
Composite source #1 selection (Input #1).
Composite source #2 selection (Input #2).
RGBS & YUV source selection (Input #3).
S.VIDEO source selection (Input #4).
Execute the transition.
