FLEXIBLE HEATING BELT
GENERAL INFORMATION
Drum heaters are electrical resistance heaters that are easy to wrap around
metal drums and tanks thanks to their flexibility. They are made from a nickel
alloy circuit which is laminated between silicone-impregnated fibreglass cloth.
This offers flexibility and resistance to moisture, chemicals and high tempera-
tures. They are designed to provide a means of freeze protection, melting, solids,
viscosity control and maintaining drum contents at elevated temperatures.
WARNING
Fire/explosion hazard
Do not seal drums when applying heat. Drums are designed to be used as
containers only and are not suitable for use as a pressure vessel. Failure to
take notice of this warning may result in severe personal injury, death or
substantial damage to property. When removing drum covers, bungs and
vent caps should be removed and clamps and gaskets should be left off.
Fire hazard
This drum heater is designed for use on metal drums only. It may not be
used with non-metal drums. Ensure that the heater is free from chemi-
cals, acids, alkalis, oils, fluids, or other substances that could ignite or cause
damage to the heater.
Electrical shock hazard
Disconnect all power to the heater before servicing or replacing the heater. And
the heater can only be used indoors. Prohibited to be used in rain or snow.
High temperature hazard
During operation surfaces of the drums and the heater surface can be ex-
tremely hot. Do not touch surface of the drum or of the heater.

INSTALATION
An illustration of this product can be found at the end of this document.
1. Wrap and clamp heater around the drum prior to switching the heater on.
2. Then pull on the spring , holding the hook end of the heater against
the drum.
3. Place a loop of the spring over the hook as shown.
4. The heater must not be positioned against any dented areas of the drum.
5. The heater must be in full contact with the drum and positioned below
the level of liquid while in operation.
6. Do not bend the heater sharply, as this may cause internal damage to
the heater element.
7. Open drum to allow for expansion when heating.
8. Set thermostat to lowest setting.
9. Plug in heater.
10. Adjust thermostat to appropriate setting.
11. Ensure there is no sharp angle and edge on the drum surface.
WIRING
Electrical shock hazard
All drum heaters must be grounded in accordance with the European
Directive and local electrical codes.
All Drum Heaters are manufactured with a wire mesh grounded grid and a
three-pin plug to ensure that they are electrical safe.
1. No special wiring is required to operate the Drum Heater . The electrical
outlet, including RCD ,should be wired in accordance with the European
Directive, in addition to any local electrical codes, by a qualified person.
2. Do not connect the heater to a voltage source that is higher than
the given rating. Check the model number stamped on the heater to
confirm the voltage and the amp draw.

3. User shall install overcurrent protection rated lower than 13.5 A for the
power supply against overcurrent.
4. User should read the introduction and training before use.
Durm contents
1. Disconnect the heater ensuring that the liquid level in the drum is low .
2. Cover the heater to protect against any spillages.
3. If the drum is dented or empty, do not use the heater. This may cause
the heater to burn out prematurely.
4. Ambient temperature during operation shall be between -30 °C and 60 °C.
5. Altitude during operation shall be under 1000 m.
6. Transport and storage temperature shall be between-30 °C and 60 °C.
Environment
The maximum operating temperature is 149 °C (temperature of the sur-
face of the heater). Do not operate if the temperature is higher than the
maximum recommended temperature. Excessive temperature can cause
premature failure of the heater.Do not operate under the explosive hazard
environment. The operating relative humidity should less than 80%Rh.
Thermostat
An illustration of this product can be found at the end of this document.
The thermostat range for the metal drum heater is -10 °C to 150 °C. To
set the thermostat to the lowest temperature, rotate the knob as far as it
will go in the counter—clockwise direction. To set the thermostat to the
highest temperature, rotate the knob as far as it will go in the clockwise
direction. Also, the thermostat should be checked every three months.
Maintenance
Ensure that the heater is free from chemicals, acids, alkalis, oils, fluids, or
other substances that could ignite or cause damage to the heater.
Ensure that the heater is positioned below the level of the contents inside
the drum. Check that heater fits tightly against the drum or tank. The heat-
er contains no user serviceable parts .
Periodic product inspection and recording is required. The inspection
items are as follows :

a) Thermal insulation systems shall be inspected for evidence of water in-
gress. Potential problem locations shall be noted on maintenance log

b) junction boxes shall be inspected for water or evidence of previous water

the workpiece temperature shall also be recorded at the same time;
f ) deviations in insulation resistance or trace heater current from the man-
ufacturer's information or from previous readings shall be resolved;
g) ground leakage current shall be measured and recorded. The source for
any significant changes shall be identified and resolved.

FLEXIBELE VERWARMINGSRIEM
Vatverwarmers zijn verwarmingen met elektrische weerstand die door
hun flexibiliteit eenvoudig om metalen vaten en tanks zijn aan te brengen.
Ze bestaan uit een circuit van een nikkellegering, dat is gelamineerd tus-
sen glasvezeldoeken die zijn geïmpregneerd met siliconen. Dit zorgt voor
flexibiliteit en bestandheid tegen vocht, chemicaliën en hoge tempera-
turen. Deze producten zijn ontworpen voor vorstbeveiliging, het smelten
van vaste stoffen, viscositeitsregeling en het bewaren van de inhoud van
vaten op hoge temperaturen.
Brand- en explosiegevaar
Zorg dat vaten tijdens het verwarmen niet zijn afgedicht. Vaten zijn uitsluitend
ontworpen voor gebruik als containers en zijn niet geschikt voor gebruik als
drukvat. Als u deze waarschuwing negeert, kan dit leiden tot ernstig lichamelijk
letsel, overlijden of aanzienlijke materiële schade. Bij het verwijderen van het
deksel van een vat moeten rongen en ontluchtingsdoppen worden verwijderd
en moeten klemmenen pakkingen eraf worden gelaten.

Deze vatverwarmer is uitsluitend ontworpen voor gebruik op metalen
vaten. Het product mag niet worden gebruikt met niet-metalen vaten.
Zorg ervoor dat de verwarmer vrij is van chemicaliën, zuren, basen, oliën,
vloeistoffen en andere stoffen die kunnen ontbranden of schade kunnen
veroorzaken aan de verwarmer.
Gevaar voor elektrische schokken
Koppel alle elektrische voeding naar de verwarmer los voordat u onderhoud
uitvoert aan de verwarmer of de verwarmer vervangt of verplaatst.
Gevaar: hoge temperaturen
Tijdens het gebruik kunnen de oppervlakken van de vaten en de verwar-
mer zeer heet zijn. Raak het oppervlak van vaten en de verwarmer niet aan.

1. Plaats de verwarmer om het vat en klem hem vast voordat u de ver-
warmer inschakelt.
2. Houd vervolgens het uiteinde van de verwarmer met de haak tegen het
vat, en trek aan de veer.
3. Plaats de lus van de veer over de haak, zoals afgebeeld.
4. De verwarmer mag niet tegen ingedeukte gedeelten van het vat wor-
den geplaatst.
5. De verwarmer moet tijdens bedrijf volledig contact maken met het vat
en onder het vloeistofniveau zijn geplaatst.
6. Buig de verwarmer niet te ver, aangezien dit kan leiden tot interne scha-
de aan het verwarmingselement.
7. Open het vat, zodat de inhoud tijdens het verwarmen veilig kan uitzetten.
8. Zet de thermostaat in de laagste stand.
9. Sluit de verwarmer aan op een voedingsbron.
10. Zet de thermostaat in de gewenste stand.
11. Controleer of er geen scherpe hoeken en randen op het vatoppervlak
aanwezig zijn.
BEDRADING
Gevaar voor elektrische schokken
Alle vatverwarmers moeten zijn geaard in overeenstemming met alle
plaatselijk geldende voorschriften.
Alle vatverwarmers worden tijdens de productie voorzien van een aar-
dingsraster van gaas en een driepens stekker, om ervoor te zorgen
dat ze elektrisch veilig zijn.
1. Er is geen speciale bedrading nodig om de vatverwarmer te gebruiken.
De contactdoos, inclusief de aardlekschakelaar, moet door een hiertoe
bevoegde persoon zijn bedraad in overeenstemming met de plaatselijk
geldende voorschriften.
2. Sluit de verwarmer niet aan op een spanningsbron met een hogere
spanning dan de vermelde waarde. Controleer het modelnummer
dat in de verwarmer is gestanst om te bevestigen dat de spanning en
stroomopname geschikt zijn.
3. De gebruiker moet zorgen voor een overstroombeveiliging die wordt
ingeschakeld bij minder dan 13,5 A, om de voeding te beschermen
tegen overstroom.
4. De gebruiker moet de inleiding en training lezen vóór gebruik.
