BREVA V1100 - ABS Braking system Operating diagram ABS SYSTEM DESCRIPTION The ABS system is a device to avoid wheels lock- ing in case of emergency braking, increasing ve- hicle braking stability when compared to a tradi- tional braking system. Sometimes when the brake is operated, the tyre locks with a consequent loss of grip, which makes it difficult to control the vehicle.
Page 208
BREVA V1100 - ABS Braking system At engine start-up, the ABS warning light (7) comes on and remains on provided that the vehicle does not exceed 5 km/h (3.1 mph). If the warning light remains on permanently, it means that a mal- function has been detected and the ABS has been deactivated.
